Intake Report: Shoulder Scaring
"This sweet old queen has been suffering a long time. They had a severe shoulder injury that was ignored for far too long, causing malformation and degeneration of their upper joints and muscles, even their neck and upper back. They have a bit of a wobble when walking and are completely incapable of moving their left arm. The right arm is more stable and shows some movement, but it is still too weak and causes too much pain to use properly. The poor queen tends to just sit with their head down and shoulders hunched, incapable of doing all the fun things Skepluvias like to do. Our veterinary team couldn't stand to see such a sweet Skepluvi suffer, so they attempted a risky shoulder surgery to help relieve some of the discomfort. They succeeded in at least reducing some of the overall soreness and instability, which has allowed the skelpuvi to move around a bit more comfortably day to day. Sadly their left shoulder is still and will always be fully paralyzed, but with lots of hard work in physical therapy with their new caretaker we expect the queen will be able to function much better in their right shoulder and upper body. Perhaps their right arm could even become capable of normal movements some day, but it will take a lot of patience and determination to get this skepluvi moving in the right direction. So it's all up to you now - are you up to the task?"
