The catacombs are a vast underground network of tunnels, only accessible by a few select spots on the surface.
Ancient cats carved and explored these tunnels through centuries of hard work. At the heart of the catacombs
is a nook bustling with life: Catalena. Here cats live harmoniously in groups called guilds, in which every memb-
er has it's own special role. There are merchants, barbarians, witches, foragers, every type of citizen you could
imagine. Everyone contributes to Catalena in their own way and keeps it safe for the cats that live there.

why this item is significant:
this note is signfigant because in his eyes she knows that her mother is his biggest supporter. she'd do anything to keep him safe, as stated in the note. "Momma loves you" He already knew she did, and she's looked for her a few times, finding food for himself and becoming skilled at foraging. So he's been through many guilds, on the search for her. and she'll never stop, until his mother's found and known.

Why this item is significant:

"We'll be together forever, won't we, Hansie?"

He wasn't sure what he was thinking. It was his idea to come exploring, but it was irresistible! The crystals around them glowed faintly, illuminating his sister's pelt, shining with stars. The entire cavern was quiet, save for the occasional falling of a stone, or crumbling of dirt, as the cavern around them settled. It was new here; An earthquake had revealed a whole new subset of caverns, and the two kits had decided to go on an adventure together. Their mother wouldn't approve, surely, but what child has ever listened to their mother's wisdo-
"AAAH!"
He was snapped out of his thought at the sound of his sister's squeal. He purred in amusement. His beautiful Brigh had a large slop of mud on her muzzle, clearly having fallen from the roof. Shaking it off, some miniscule clumps stuck to her oversized whiskers. Everyone said she'd grow into them...

"C'mere, dummy." Hanspur licked a paw, and then brushed them away gently. "Can't have you going home covered in mud, now can we?"
Brigh only giggled, and her brother couldn't help but join in. After a moment, having caught their breath, Brigh pulled a package out of her beltpouch. A tiny fold of cloth, tied with a beautiful ribbon.

"For you."
Hansel took it, and greedily ripped the ribbon off. Inside, a fairly plain locket, vaguely in the shape of a love heart, on a thick golden chain. Using a claw to pry it open, he was faced with a photo. It was him and Brigh, smiling warmly, and a little stiffly as the camera had taken so long to snap.

So absorbed in their little gift giving, neither noticed the rumbling. Neither saw as the stalactite came loose.
The solid rock came clattering down.
Brigh screamed.

She lost the use of her hind legs that day. Hansel never did stop blaming himself, nor did he stop searching the caverns, searching for something to heal the permanent damage.
That locket is with him always. A reminder, both of his beloved, and of his foolishness.

An Enchanted Telescope
A telescope made of rose gold, yellow gold, and white gold.
It is capable of casting spells, as it has been enchanted for
the purpose of being a magic medium, as well as an actual
telescope for observing the stars.

Why this item is significant:
The stars have always been Cardinal's fascination.
His family specialized in studying and charting stars,
and because of their influence, he too holds a great
love for the astronomical bodies seen in the sky.
The enchanted telescope he uses as a magic medium
and as a spyglass for the stars is his most prized item.
It was passed down from as an heirloom by Cardinal's
parents, and their parents before them. And because
he was the oldest heir in their family, the telescope
was passed to him. Though there were several other
treasures in their family, to him, the golden spyglass
was the most outstanding and magnificent to him.
There is also a special spell that he can cast with his
treasured heirloom; a projection spell which shows
him the sky from when he'd observed it last. And if
ever he gets stressed or even homesick, he'd simply
cast the spell to show him the stars for his worries to
cease.
