As you drive with your car as fast as it can go, the sounds of sirens and horse's screams get louder and louder. The second you watched the story unfold on the news you got into the drivers seat and opened GPS. The police didn't know how to handle terrified horses and there wasn't an organization near to help. You can feel the pressure building on your shoulders.
That's when you turn the corner. A horrific sight sits before you. A large man with bags under his eyes is being hauled into a police car as everyone nearby watches, hands on their mouths in shock. But you aren't focused on the man like they are, you're focused on the horses. Skinny, dirty, and frail they lumber out one by one. All of their eyes are wide and their mouths hang open as they scream and whinny in terror. That's when you realize, only the mares are completely frantic. The stallions are as well but less so. Only mothers being dragged from their babies make that sound. There are still foals inside.
Before you run into the barn you take a look at it, even though your heart is screaming at you to go help. Your brain makes sure you stay put to assess the situation. The roof appears to be about to collapse and the walls are slightly bowed outwards. Each small paddock attached to the stalls has no grass or hay and the cracked water troughs are bone dry. Tears rise to your eyes as you take in the sight. You have to save the poor babies.

After hours of directing civilians and policemen, finally all of the horses are outside of the rotting barn. Buckets had been brought over from neighbor's houses and filled to the brim with clean water. The broodmares and stallions had been separated into makeshift pens, but the foals had just been brought together so a vet could look at them. Many were of weaning age and were taken into another area but a couple clearly still needed their mothers. These foals were led around the mare pen until they clearly found the correct one. It was a sight that brought tears to your eyes. They were so happy being reunited.
But it was when you stepped back to look at your handiwork that you realize something.
What are you going to do with all of these horses?

Welcome to the Fallen Oaks Farm event! It is here that an illegal Euphorian Thoroughbred breeding operation was shut down by local authorities. All of the mares, stallions, and of age foals are in need of homes. There will also be some mares that still have their foals that need to be taken care of. Euphorian lovers from all over have come together to get homes for all of the animals. They've brought giant trailers and are ready and waiting to bring home a bunch of new faces. But before adopting, they must visit the trailer parking site. Welcome to Fallen Oaks Farm!
