prompt:
blackbird sat as the wind blew her ears.
she looked out of the cave and watched
storm clouds form in the air. her pupil went
wild like a cat's went it's stalking prey.
her ears went down in terror. black bird
trembled and bit her lit. it woke her mate,
sparrow up. he nuzzled her gently and went
back to sleep. this provided comfort to her
but not enough. the storm moved in and
lighting and thunder struck the sky. black bird
ran by her mate. he shifted his tail onto hers to
provide more comfort. she lay down. tears in her
eyes. she fell asleep and had the same dream.
crashing waves were chasing her mother. she was
held by her scruff. her mother climbed to the tallest
tree. there was only room for one. blackbird's mother
placed blackbird in the tree with a tear in her eye.
then blackbird's mother let go and was washed into
the storm. blackbird woke up to tears all over her face
and a upset looking sparrow. it was night. she got up
and put her face into sparrows pelt. "it's ok.." he said gently.
blackbird stared into her mate's grey and green eyes.
"no, it's not. i can never cope with storms and i never will."
blackbird looked at her mate as a tear rolled out of her eye.
"i wouldn't be able to cope either if something like that happened to
me or you. now lets go hunt, it will take your mind off of it."
the two headed off into the night. the answer is blackbird can't
cope with storms.
