"Ashira, you gonna help or not?"

"Oh! Y-yeah, sorry..."

Brynn lets out a small snort, grabbing another Lego and attaching it to the slowly forming one-story house. "Always off in your own world, you are! Sometimes I wonder where you go..." She sighs wistfully, adding a small window to the left wall. Ashira looks down at the small calf affectionately, watching her eyes light up as she digs though the giant tub of legos and finds another tan brick. If only you knew where I go when I get quiet, dear one.

Small boats, enough to fit the both of us. Fighting to stay balanced but tumbling into the cool blue anyways, breaking the surface for a breath, but losing it as soon as I look at you. Long nights under the stars, reminiscing about kindergarten daydreams and small lego houses. Your sweet forest greens disappearing underneath your eyelids as your face crinkles with laughter, as you tell me this house will be the one we build when we grow up. The one we will spend our lives together in, and I laugh too, my heart as full as the grin plastered on your sweet face.

Another long night on the roof of your house ten years later, thoughts of graduation robes and diplomas floating through our heads. They disappear when I look at you, they always have. Always leaving me breathless, and that night you felt it too as you slowly leaned in.

Graduation passes with a tassel flip and you're still here, my head touching yours as we cry with joy over the new life we have created, you and me and number three. Name ideas and nursery nights, stolen kisses and soft glances. Waiting for the day our lives change forever. They did.

Pink, blue, pink, blue, red, blue, red, blur, blur... White walls, suffocation. Beeps and buzzes, a totaled car. No more pink and blue, and no more you. No more you. No more...

"There you go again, Ash! Wherever do you go?"

"Brynn...? What will you do? When the house falls apart...?"

Her eyebrows furrow, her jaw setting. It takes a while for the calf to respond, her attention on the broken eyes of her babysitter. But her eyes brighten like the sun, and she looks up at Ashira. "Well, we build another one!"

"Another..?"

"Of course! The foundation of the past one should still be there. Maybe a little broken, but we can build off of that! Next time instead of one story, we can build another! Together."

The calf smiled, her small light turning to the tub again, searching for more lego pieces. Ashira's heart crumbles, her eyes crystalline with the formation of tears.

"Can we make the second floor green, Brynn?"

"Of course."

Kindergarten daydreams and small lego houses. Ours crumbled and fell apart, but I will rebuild it all for you. Our story does not end in one floor, so I will build another. I will do it all for you.

Growing up Estrella was a bit of an eccentric calf. Her mother encouraged her to try whatever piqued her interest. She didn't stay interested in most things long enough to enjoy them, that was until her mom, being a teacher, introduced her to science. Science almost immediately took a hold of the young cow and it didn't seem to be letting go of her anytime soon. After school, her time would be allocated to checking out different subjects under the science umbrella. Occasionally her mom would suggest ones for her to look at. Eventually, it came to the point where the young cow how found the perfect one for her. Space!

Looking up, searching the skies. Whatever way you put it, as an adult Estrella could always be found staring at the night sky for hours just admiring the stellar marvel above. Above all else space was her favourite thing. This included every aspect of it such as the stars, planets, asteroids, and even the vast hollow pockets of nothingness. Aside from spending hours just watching, Estrella would spend just as many hours pondering what else could be out there in such an indescribable vastness. Could there be foreign life forms? What if they had advanced technologies or societies? Whatever the answer was she was aware she would most likely never come to a conclusion, but this did not bother her in any regard. In fact, it inspired her to start studying space as an amateur astronomer in her spare time.
