It started to rain.

On your way to the rain festival, you found yourself stuck in heavy rains, and you took to the nearest shelter immediately. A pathway to a garden presented itself to your right, and without second thought you ran on the stoned steps until you stumbled upon a roofed structure, a garden gazebo.
You removed your boots to dry beside as you step inside, when suddenly you’re met by a voice.


“Ahh!”
You looked down and found a small girl huddled on the floor, holding a leaf umbrella. She stood up abruptly.


“Wh- What are you doing here?”
You said you were waiting for the heavy rains to dry.


“Are you… afraid of the rain, too?”
What an odd question to ask, you thought. You shook your head, much to her sadness.


“Oh… I guess I am the only one.”
The girl paused before looking back.


“My sisters left me to watch over our garden while they prepare activities for the rain festival. Won’t you accompany me, only until the rain calms down? I am terribly afraid of going out during heavy rains. I am Dianthus, by the way.”
It's not like you can do anything else with the heavy rain, you said. You sat by her side and kept her company for the meantime.x

Welcome to the garden gazebo! For this activity, you will be answering prompts to keep the little carnation company while the heavy rains subside. Here are the following info (PM me for any questions!):


- Prompts will be open for about 48 hours! Once closed, you may not post for that prompt again.

- You must write at least 50 words (for writing) OR draw an efforted sketch (for art). I will not judge based on skills, but I want to see some effort put! You can of course color in your art or write more (or do both!) if you want!

- Owners and non-owners are welcome! You are encouraged to use and develop your own pastel pops for the prompts, but in the event that you have none yet, you may use our darling Strawbaby (he/him pronouns!).

- You may design your form in any way, shape, or form. Let your creativity go wild! This isn't a competition so don't you fret, but we want you all to have fun with creating your prompts and developing your pops. c:

Strawberry sits and thinks, he puts his hand up to his chin, long sleeves folded over as he concentrates really hard. After a minute, he looks up as a light bulb had gone off in his head.
"See, this is kind of hard because I love the sun! Its when I can go outside and run around, having the time of my life!"
He tilts his head and blushes slightly
"BUT, after a while I get tired and I trip on my sleeves a lot when I run, so I like when it rains better. Rain also comes with a slight chill usually, and so I like to curl up in my sweater and tails and just be surrounded by a soft warm hug. There is tons to do when it rains as well, I can invite people over and its the best time to play video games! And no one can tell me to go outside because I can't! Plus for the days that I don't feel like talking to anyone, I can just watch as the rain falls from the window. It is strangely calming. "
He smiles and then shrugs
"I don't know they both are fun. If you like the sun better, that is ok I hope we can still be friends!"

Caroline gasped as lightning broke the sky in two; she sprung out of her bed breathing heavily. She placed her hand above her restless heart beat, a grin spreading across her maw. She rushed across her room, digging in her closet to find a sweater, a nice pair of sweats, and her rain boots and coat. She sqeaked loudly as she tiptoed down the hallway, holding back laughter. Caroline opened the door, wind blowing the trees wildly. She ran out onto the porch, smiling as the cool rain rushed down the roof. She leapt from the stairs, splashing into a puddle. She laughed and spun as the droplets exploded onto her coat and fur, lightning brightening the sky. It lit Caroline in a hazy light, her smile wild and reckless. She loved this.

strawberry milk actually prefers the first hour or so after the rain has stopped falling. he gets to enjoy the various perks that come from the downpour, such as the pleasant smell and the small creatures it draws out, without actually having to get his hair and outfit completely soaked. he can keep his top half looking its best, while still running through puddles and enjoying the outdoors. it seems the most appropriate time to go barefoot as well. when he doesn't mind the ruined outfit, he enjoys pulling at the drooping branches, creating his own little rainfall from the droplets collected on the leaves.

it's raining again, as it so often does. but he doesn't mind, because if he did, it wouldn't make for a very happy life. of course, there are aspects of rain that he didn't enjoy very much. for example -- the grayness of the clouds. how dull ! though for the most part, strawberry enjoys the rain. he enjoys listening to the soothing sounds of the pitter patter. he enjoys the scent that often accompanies a rain. he loves watching raindrops race down his window. often he goes walking around in the rain, letting the comforting sounds wash around him and drown out all his problems.
