9:30 - The BeginningShe awakens from her peaceful slumber,
Rubbing the sleep from her eyes,
Scarfing down her breakfast
A new day is here,
A new sunrise to paint,
(Though when it comes to painting skies, she generally prefers the night.)
Mornings are not my forte,
She thinks as she squints in the sunlight
Which is ever too bright
It is far from ideal,
But somehow she will make do
10:00 - The StudioAfter she has adjusted,
(As much as she can,)
She goes to her studio
Her favorite room,
With the paintings on the walls,
And the paint tubes littering the floors
She spends hours in this room,
Letting the brush guide her paw,
Painting to her hearts content
1:00 - The InspirationSometimes she takes breaks,
To venture outside,
And find inspiration
She explores her backyard,
And sometimes goes further,
To a park or even a forest perhaps
Her camera flashes once, twice,
As she photographs all that is beautiful
2:00 - The Studio cont'd.Back in her own room,
More time to just be
Maybe finish a painting or two,
Maybe not even one
Lost in the brush strokes,
Smelling the acrylic paint,
Creating new masterpieces
In her artwork,
The world changes,
A reflection of her vision - not anyone else's
5:00 - The ReunionAnother break,
Another step into the outside world
She spends most of her time alone,
Barely talking in the course of a day
But she does have a few friends,
The kinds who don't mind the infrequency of her visits
She shows them her art,
They show her their own creations
She doesn't say much.
Nor do they.
It's peaceful
8:00 - The EndingThe sun dips below the horizon,
And the sky is a canvas of shifting colours
With silver clouds and golden lakes
She watches,
Drinking in the view,
So that she may later paint it
Eventually the sun says its final goodbye,
And the stars and the moon begin to emerge from their hiding
The glorious night has come,
And she is home
Sometimes she watches for only a minute,
Other times she stargazes the night away
Whatever she does, it is the end to her day,
And a good one at that
