"why are there so many flowers?"
Kublai curled up ever so smaller in his chair in the back of the room, his teachers confused and enraged at the floral mess scattered about the floors. He tugged his jacket tighter around his body to hide the petals dropping from his fur and hoped they wouldn't notice the trail of lilacs and foxgloves leading to him.
They, of course, did notice the trail, and asked Kublai why he had made a mess.
"I can't help it; the petals fall off when I get upset," he whined as he opened his jacket.
His teacher yelled at him for bringing the flowers inside and tried to snatch them. Kublai cried out while the petals were ripped from his chest and sides. By the time Kublai's teacher noticed the fur tufts attached to the petals, it was too late; he had yanked out all the petals and leaves and vines growing out of Kublai. Kublai ran away to regrow and heal.

In time, Kublai regrew all the flowers and leaves and vines that had been torn out of his fur. He was placed into a new class and his hanahaki disease was mentioned prior to the school starting. Students would ask about the flowers and he was always ecstatic to talk about them. Over time, many people offered the flowers kind words and plenty of water and sunlight, until a whole plant nursery worth of flowers bloomed out of Kublai's body. Once in adulthood, he would pick flowers and give them to children who cried; he offered a beautiful lilac to a child who had skinned their knee, or a forget-me-not to an infant that was hungry. He loved gardening his own self to make smiles blossom on anyone who noticed the vibrant blue shades erupting from his skin and fur.

Legend has it that should you notice a trail of blue and purple flowers down in the woods, Kublai will be at the end of the floral road, caring for all the little mice and deer that follow the path. Some say he'd care for you too!

Prompt: Annabelle has had a curse put on her. when she was walking through the woods she came into contact with a dark kiuii who wanted to give her misery, and so cursed her. the curse did go wrong, it was supposed to grow nettles, and so the punishment is less harsh and she managed to live.

'I loved that boy, but it seemed the feeling wasn't mutual..'

Magnolia, or Mag, developed a nasty Hanahaki disease once she fell in love with this boy of beautiful cobalt. His fur glided in the sky like the soft splashes of water upon the shore at night. His bright eyes lit up the night's sky when there seemed not the be a shooting star. His personality was.. Soft. He was soft. Shy. Respectable. One of those old fashioned men. The one to ask a girl's father to the dance. One to spoil a girl with gifts, love and attention.

But it seemed he was spoiling someone else...

So she got the sugery. The one to rid the feeling. o rid the flowers. Once it was finished, she was elated. She had no desire to be with this man she was literally dying for. It was a good feeling.. But, the flowers wouldn't go away.. She stopped coughing them up, but they seemed unmoved..

Ever since she could remember Rui has always had these flowers.
Her mother always told her, "Never pluck them or something horrible might happen."
Little did she know that those flowers helped her live.
At a young age, her parents saw Rui struggling with her health.
So they took her somewhere they thought they would never go.
But this was their only option. Rui got worse daily.
Her father worried about her so he finally convinced her mother that this was for the best.
They took her to the willow tree where you could find Tua.
Tua was an herbalist who studied plant life and helped those in need.
A few years ago Tua found something that could change a Kiuii inside.
It could change how they appeared and felt. A blue wildflower that had magical properties.
Everyone opened up to the idea until something happened that was totally wrong.
That day Tua did something unthinkable. A strange idea popped into her head.
What if he could bring back the son she had lost and yet loved too dearly?
That was her first mistake. But her Rui's father and mother were desperate.
They asked Tua to fix Rui's health with the magical flower and she did but there was a cost.
Rui can never pluck the flowers or they'll die. She must take care of them like they are a part of her.
Personality:
Rui is a light-hearted Kiuii who is mute.
She can be quite energetic, chipper, and warm.
Her normal nature is silly, caring and happy. She loves to smile and be cheerful!
Though she doesn't talk she still finds a way to communicate without her voice.
She loves the peace and quiet you would normally find in a grassy field.
It calms her and changes her perspective.
