To his teacher's dismay, he marched to class clad with red, yellow, and black armor and spiral horns curved towards his eyes. He kept his tail tucked underneath a thin pointed artificial tail in the shape of an arrow, which lashed back and forth as he bounced towards his desk. His sparkled velvet wings knocked against other students as he pounced into his seat, which caused the complaints of his peers. His face reddened as he apologized profusely and sunk down into his chair, notably less excited than before. In his row, he was surrounded by rather run-of-the-mill costumes, ones from those magazines which were not made par to his per-say, as they were only made for one day of the whole year. Isa's outfit stood out like a sore thumb, as it was mostly metal armor, including a metal helmet with horns, but with wings and a tail added haphazardly on, as if they did not belong. It was clear Isa was beyond mortified once he realized that no one had a costume like his. Despite his teacher's surprise at his costume, he padded over confidently and put on the best smile he could manage, noticing Isa's newfound woe. "Your costume is very creative Isa. Where did you get it?"

The scrawny Kalon wiped his nose and straightened himself up to the sight of his teacher. "T-thanks. It was once my mom's."

"That's cool. So your mom wore it for Halloween too when she was a kid?" he questioned the small kit.

Ears perked, Isa seemed to be feeling better about his armor now that the teacher had noticed him instead of any other of his students. "No, not for Halloween, I mean. She was once a hunter, the best around! Not anymore, though," he replied.

"A hunter? Of what?"

Isa hesitated. He wasn't sure his teacher would believe what he said next, but he went ahead anyways, "A demon hunter, of course."

His words were met with chuckles from his teacher. "Is that why you added the demon wings and tail?"

"Yep! I would look exactly like her when she's out fighting them. She only wore this armor when she was my age, now she has bigger ones. I've never actually seen her in action, though. She only tells stories now."

"Well, it's an interesting choice to say the least," he waved goodbye to his student as he retreated to his front desk to take attendance for the day. Isa practically glowed with pride as he glanced out the rainy windows, imagining himself becoming a skilled fighter like his mother once was. [434/500 words]
