After much thought and the fact that this poor Kalon has been sitting for a little, I decided to readopt them and hopefully give them a new better home.
This kid is a blank slate. Has all their breeding slots and does not need to be connected to the family/parents in any way. If you'd like to that is fine, if you don't that is fine as well. It won't sway my decision.
This will be a prompt based adoption.
"Describe and explain a trinket/item they hold dearly."
You will have 200 words or 1 art piece to describe the item.
And up to 1000 words to explain why. This can be in story form, journal, memoir, whatever. Be creative and have fun with it.
You do not need to use the whole 1000 words.
Prettying up the form is okay.
Marking the thread is fine.

eve arrives home from a long day of school and drops her bag by the door. "i'm home!" she calls out.
"good afternoon, dear," a soft but masculine voice responds and appears from the kitchen. her father embraces her and kisses her forehead. "i have a package for you. it's from my sisters." he moves to the side and gestures to the dining room table.
"ooh, i wonder what my aunties have sent me!" eve exclaims with wonder in her eyes and sets her gaze gently on the big box.
she unfolds the flaps and pulls out a multitude of things. some money, a plastic pink tiara, a "sweet sixteen" ribbon with a banner, extra soft leggings, and a small jewelry box. "oh, they shouldn't have," eve exhales softly. "they don't have enough money for to get me something nice."
eve tentatively opens the little box and finds a note there. "your grandmother absolutely adored pearls. this was her necklace, and i think she would've wanted you to have it. she would've loved you so much, and she would've been so proud of you," the note says.
tears immediately fill eve's eyes as she reads it aloud to her father, and he hugs her from the side. "i think my mother would have been proud of you. very proud," he commends and ruffles her hair. "take the wrapping out. i want to see these lovely pearls around your neck, eve."
she obeys her face and pulls away the glittery wrapping paper, revealing the immaculate white pearls resting against a velvet cushion.
eve gingerly clips the necklace around her neck before letting it rest against her chest. "how do i look, daddy? do they look pretty on me? can i go see in the mirror?" she asks in a rush, moving to and fro as her mind tries to make itself up.
"now wait a second," eve's father laughs and holds her down by setting his hands on her shoulders. "let me take a good, long look at you." he remains silent for a few seconds before tears fill his eyes, and he takes a deep breath. "you look just like her," he whispers.
eve sniffles gently before quietly stepping toward her father and hugging him. "i hope i can be just as great as her."
he messes up her hair again and replies, "i think you will be, eve. i think you will be."

Kalon Name: Yin
Item:
Story:A youthful yet ornery Yin yanked her mother's arm and whined, becoming more and more cranky with each minute spent in the nearby mall's many clothing stores. On Saturdays like these, the two would go out shopping, but no matter the goods they were buying Yin was never fond of shopping much, at least as a child. However, her parents were very opposed to leaving her home alone, as her father still worked on the weekends, so she had to go with her mother.
Yin wished she would get to see her father more, what with her schooling and his working all the time, but any complaints were swiftly shot down by her mother, who briskly explained each time she asked that they needed the money. But at what cost? All children needed the affection of both parents.
By the time they got home, Yin was contentedly slurping a blueberry slushie that was embarrassingly as tall as her forearm. Buying her unhealthy sweets was always the only way to her heart.
Surprisingly, light was thinning as they came back to the flat they called home and the sky was now being engulfed in sun. The presence of another car by the garage signified that her father was home before them, which was an oddity.
Her paws were lugged down by her drink and two bags as they waltzed to the door. A clinking of keys was heard as her mother fumbled for them and Yin was growing slightly impatient, wondering why her father was home early. Would he be home early everyday now? She hoped so.
Her spirits were slightly higher seeing him, and after a few formalities and "how are you's" he remembered with a jolt that he had a surprise for them, which he promptly hurried to retrieve from his bag. Yin flashed her mother a look, but she looked as surprised as she did.
He lugged back a rather large ball, almost like a bowling ball in size, but its insides moved with each step. It seemed to be very heavy, as he was having a hard time carrying it.
"What is that?" her mother inquired, her eyes wide at its misty abyss. He set it down on the couch, where it steadied. Yin collapsed next to it, her pale orbs met with pink skies.
"It's a seeing ball. See here," he leaned against the head of the couch and planted his paw pads onto the ball. It started glowing, then it died off. "It's supposed to show the seer their dreams, but I haven't gotten it to work. I must not be so magically inclined," he joked. "Try it."
Her mother fashioned her paws around it, but it had even less of a reaction to her. She shrugged, "Maybe it'll work for you, Yin. I've never been believing in this magic stuff."
She grinned wildly, planting her paws onto it and pulling it towards her comfortably. Her heart fluttered anxiously as it warmed into her paw pads and it started turning, but before it could show her dreams she withdrew from it, unsure of what she would see.
"What's the matter?" her father questioned, eyeing her curiously.
"Nothing," she murmured, secretly not wanting her parents to see her dreams.
"Well, go on, then," he yawned, not taking the hint.
Sighing, Yin tried again, this time letting the ball take its course. It shifted and showed a scene of one of Yin's first memories, Christmas. Her parents stared down at it with wonder, her father swelling with pride. The tiny versions of themselves fought in the snow with snowballs, launching them towards each other, Yin always succeeding. Her mother would be watching from the sidelines, bundled up in the frigid air. The dream ended with her hugging into both her parents in the warmth of their home.
She looked miserable, having shown them what she dreamed most of, what she would not have anymore. Perhaps she should let go of the past and grow up, but that was easier said than done and she was still very young. It would be a few more years before she was a teenager. She felt like she was torn between two ages, one of youth and one of maturity.
"At least it works for you, hon," her mother cooed, satisfied that it at least works for one Kalon in their family. Her paw-steps faded away promptly as she collected the bags and went to stash them away.
Her father suddenly leaned in to her, "I know how difficult it is to not see me all the time, but I'll tell you what. I'll stay home for the holidays and for Sundays at least. Sound good?" she nodded. "Keep this between you and me. Mom thinks I'm going to be gone this Christmas; I want to surprise her."
"Right," she smiled and took the ball into her lap, staring down into its depths as her father settled into a chair and turned the television on. This little world did not seem heavy to her, oddly enough. However, what it contained was heavier and more important than any other. That is why she kept it after so many years.
---
Now, she was aged, her hair was long and frayed and her cheeks had slight creases, but she was still young in spirit, as many who came to her booth can attest. Signs and smoke pointed to her work, noxious yet alluring fumes danced to her booth. Most who traveled to her office were young Kalons who sought to succeed, whether that be becoming rich, finding love, or catching fame.
But those were not causes she wished to promote. She finds her father in many of the Kalons that visit her, as they tend to overlook what is most important. Now Yin is more of a counselor than some witch who steals Kalons' money with promises of fortune. Her seeing ball, if anything, gives Kalons a wake-up call to follow their real dreams.

Kalon Name: Lilith
Story (1000 words):The morning sun crept through the gap in the curtains, her eyes burning from how little she had slept and that sun just made it worse. Its light smothered the darkness that had encapsulated the room for, what seemed like, forever.
Arya's hair fell gracefully over the arm of the sofa, she and her grandfather had sat on here for hours at a time laughing at his old stories and the amazing fairy tales he would tell about dragons and faeries, knights and giant wolves. They were always the best.
A glint of gold blinded her as the sun uncovered the corner of the room. Her mother had already taken all the gold in the house to keep it safe. Most of it was originally her grandma's, but after she died her grandad had kept everything. When she died the entire family was devastated, but it was especially hard for her grandad. What would her mother of forgotten to take? Arya forced herself to get up and look. She was too tired to do much, but she felt a force pushing her to go. His glasses. Her grandad's glasses. She held them in her hands so carefully, as if they were entirely made of fragile glass. She felt a year roll down her cheek as she remembered his face, his bushy eyebrows and his big, crooked nose, and how he would push it against grandma's. Her vision went blurry as she held them against her chest. There, they would stay forever.

Kalon Name: Lassie
Item: A small tuft of silver fur, beloning to her sister, held together with a clear elastic band
Story: A kalon approches me and wipes away my tears. "I love you lass" She whispers as her eyes water. "Why cant I go with you!?" I wine "because they only want me" She murmurs under her breath. "Dont leave me here..." I sob. A wave of sadness washes over her and scilent is held until she opens her mouth "Here," she says trying to stay possitive. The rips out a tuft of her beautiful silver fur and places it gently in my hand. We clench paws and dont let go. "Claire!" Yells the headmistress with agression. Claire looks up at the misstress and pleads for me to come with her. Shaking her head Claire bows her head in sorrow and walks into the vercle. Peering behind to chach a last glimps of me, she gives a lonley smile and that was the last time I ever saw her.
Headmisstress points to the building and I head back in. "Bedtime will be at 7.00pm sharp" she snaps "Off you go" I slowly head to my bedroom thats shared witn 4 other kalons. " So Claire left the ofanage" one says with a nasty grin on her face. " And noone wanted poor little lass" another teases. The rest burst with laughter . I hide under the covers and cry myself to sleep, still clenching on to the tuft of fur.
That night I dreamt of her, her voice and soft smile filled my head that night.
As the years went on, her roommates came as soon as they left, all of them as mean as the last, but what they all said was true.... nobody wanted her.
Every night Lassie cried her little heart out and prayed to the angels that someone wanted her.
But that all changed... as soon as she heard a knock on her door...
