For sake of keeping this fair, StarGate Atlantis and Animorphs are off limits. I've seen all of the first recently, and the second would spoil the books, which I'm still rereading.
I have Netflix, so if it's on there it will be watched before anything that's not. Youtube Red items are allowed, since I have that too and can watch them.

To clarify a few things, I am 18+ and okay with shows aimed at any age. I do lip read, but I have headphones that can make it easier to understand dubbed stuff, so anything really goes!

Scifi show or movie: I recommend 'Final Space'! It's an animated, comedy-drama, science fiction, netflix original (not kids netflix) show. It's currently only got 10 episodes, but season 2 is coming out soon. I'd say start on episode one, so you don't get any spoilers. I'll warn you though, there is some mild gore sometimes, and you may cry in some episodes (and some not kid friendly words, but very mild and not used often.) It's a really cool show, and I hope you enjoy it too!

Just doing a quick update--

because of the World Equestrian Games, judging for this WILL BE SLOW. I'm following every second of action that trickles out (which is ridiculously little) and it tends to be during my netflix time. I'm restricted on times I can access the account, and those hours start at 9pm.

A very quick apology: ther have been issues involved in judging this and it led to significant delays. I've managed to at least read a synopsis where I couldn't watch it, and do apologize heavily for the delays.
