"To allow yourself to have complete peace is to fall under a hypnotist's spell. To allow yourself to be completely at ease is to let yourself be controlled."

Malacai enjoys manipulating others, being a very cruel and hateful kalon by nature. But something very specific that makes it even more frightening is that Malacai has honed manipulating into a hobby that he can't live without. Hypnotism. Many others tell him that he's faking everything, that he never once has actually hypnotized someone, but Malacai likes when they think it's fake. It makes them more susceptible to his hypnotic abilities.

"The tools of a magician on the stage are dulled versions of the real thing, if one were to truly have magic at their fingertips, no form of entertainment would be as deadly as magic shows."

Originally, he seemed like a stage performer, often times using the stereotypical hypnotist tool, a clock or charm on a chain. But of course, nobody believes that stage hypnotists can actually hurt anybody. When it comes to most of them, this is true, but Malacai learned that he had more abilities than to just tell someone to pretend to do something. He wanted to prove it was fake, to put on a show of debunking everything. He told the "hypnotized" to go onto the roof of the building and jump off. Of course, Malacai expected the kalon to yell at him, but with no emotion, they started walking off of the stage, and that's when Malacai knew that his little hobby was getting out of hand.

He was scared back then, but nowadays, he's never been more happy about something going wrong.

"Where are you gonna run? Where do you think you're gonna hide? Do you think you're smart enough to take ol' satan for a ride?"

Nowadays, he likes to pretend that he's a nice kalon. Malacai's favorite is that he likes to say he's a therapist, and that he has a wonderful way for other kalons to battle anxiety. While, in reality, instead of losing their anxiety, the kalon loses all ability to control their own thoughts or actions. All of that is under Malacai's control now. He often makes kalons do awful things while hypnotized, and just watch as things go wrong, making for a fun and entertaining hobby for him. It's like watching television, but he controls all of the characters.
