Being a stallion, Morris was quite a bit different, especially in that he was just as feral as the mares had been... I made soft sounds, spoke soft words, and touched him just as with the mares, but this time had to dodge hooves thrown at me. Luckily, the van and trailer had been backed to the door, so his only way was into the barn. He backed down the ramp all on his own, turning and running, but when he came to the open door of the empty stall, he went right in. “Good boy...” I muttered as I walked by, turning and closing the stall quick.


Task 2 - Taming;

I’d managed to get a halter on him, though he didn’t seem to like this much. However, he’d given up flailing, rearing, and kicking, and settled for giving me what might be considered a look of disdain. I hummed as I released him into the pen I’d chosen to use, allowing him to walk the enclosed space as I faced away, back to him and arms crossed. He snorted and called, clearly smelling the mares, but soon seemed to take notice of my position. It seemed he didn’t like my ignoring him, despite his feralness, as he strutted up and nipped me. I turned and raised an arm, to which he ducked his head under it, trying to nibble at me.

Task 3 - Introduce to a herd;

I led Morris out to the pasture, allowing my Prince and the two friend mares to come up and inspect him first, but they moved off just as quick. I turned my attention to Pumkin and co, the somewhat spooky and fiery mare seeming to have taken over by now. I knew they needed a stallion, so I was introducing Morris to them. He squealed as he smelled their scent, soon spotting them. Pumkin strode up to him first, scenting him, then began to groom. Kana and Kura came close next, scenting then trying to groom him as well. Morris nipped at Pumkin, wanting to groom her, so Kiya, after scenting, took up grooming Morris. I left them there, smiling.

The stallion squealed as I walked by his stall, drawing my attention. It was early, they were still eating and watering, and the mares all had done this once out in the field, not so early. Concerned, I approached the stall, but it seemed he’d only bonded with me faster, much faster, then Kanna and the others had. I smiled as I opened his door, scratching his neck and chuckling as he nodded his head up and down, the Grel squealing and huffing.
