Tia Moritas, Guardian Angel of the Underworld,
Protector of Traveling Souls | synastry; |
The Pact of the Living
Tia, in the mortal world, was a calm and collected
apothecary. When she was younger, her father ga
ve Tia the witch hat she wears, even as a Guardia
n Angel of the Underworld. She led a decent, fairly
easy life. Until she was given the chance to change
her existence forever.
The POL, or Pact of the Living, is only offered to
a worthy mortal once the old Guardian and protect
or retired or simply wished to stop. The last pact t
o be struck was over two centuries ago. Tia was ha
ppy staying a mortal and living her life until the las
t beat of her heart, but Giuletta, Goddess of Death,
had other plans for her.
The Pact of the Living
This Pact of the Living states that Tia Moritas, has
the choice to give up all mortal responsibilities and
accept the duties of the Guardian Angel of the Unde
rworld, Protector of Traveling Souls. If declined, no
penalties shall be suffered. If accepted, the Pact wi
ll take effect immediately. After an established amo
unt of time has been served as the Guardian, the Pa
ct may be relinquished and the Guardian will forever
live peacefully in death.
Acceptance
When Tia had received this offer, she had experie
nced a great flood of emotions. Mostly shock and
sadness at the thought of being technically dead,
yet still living at the same time. She confided in
her friends and family on what to do, what she w
ould do if she accepted The Pact. Everything they
seemed to say only made it worse, the emotional
ties getting stronger the more she thought about
them. Tia would close down her shop for days at
a time, alone in her room with just her thoughts
for company. It felt like she was a wondering sou
l, no purpose. Letting herself become lost in her w
ork along with old books as a coping mechanism,
she soon discovered that the faster she tried to
run from her monster, the quicker it would dest
roy her. After much thought, reading, and salve
making, she came to her decision. Embracing h
er fate, Tia had only one request if she was to a
ccept this offer. That request was for her belove
d hat to come with her to the Underworld.Protector of Souls
Small physical changes came about slowly after she
was transported to the Underworld. The first thing
she noticed to change was her hair. Before, it had b
een almost duller, not as thick. Her hair is said to h
ave taken in the properties of the River of Passage,
the largest river in the Underworld. Then, her pupils
took on the shape of the Labyrinth of Sins, her tong
ue resembling the Pit of Remembrance. Every soul t
hat was troubled he’d been sent to rest in The Plain
s of Harmony, Tia’s claws built up bit by bit after se
nding a soul there. There were times where she wou
ld encounter a soul she had once known in life, plun
ging her into grief and sadness. Eventually, all thos
e she once knew had passed on, guided by her. Ther
e are still times where Tia feels she can’t handle it
all, and the pain of losing what she once had still r
emains. But she always gets through it by pushing
it aside, busying herself with transporting spirits
through the Gates, her work always keeping her o
ccupied.
