art or writing: mai likes to call herself a punk. she's not much of one, though she tries; she's always swaggering around with a prideful gait, taking any opportunity to act like her idea of a rebel. snarky comments and insults are a favorite of hers, and she certainly wouldn't back down from an argument or fight due to her stubbornness. however, she's frightened quite easily, which often conflicts with her fiery desire for a scuffle; even though she'll try to muster up courage, her nervousness is always quite noticeable beyond her quivering smirk and fright-lit glare. on the inside, she's rather sensitive and weak, and doesn't do well when her insults and punches are thrown right back at her. in all honesty, she just wants a better way to relieve stress and be respected by others, but can't muster up the kindness and peace that others can.
being friends with mai is quite iffy, hence why she doesn't have many others to call friends in the first place. her mood changes easily as she switches between detesting her own weakness and wanting to let down her guard around someone, and her swings of desires lead to her snapping and lashing out quite often. if anyone were to threaten a friend of hers, however, things would get ugly rather quickly. she truly does care for those who manage to truly care for her, and she values those individuals enough to overcome and accept her own weaknesses to care for them when she can.
