Short Story:

Rose nervously paced back and forth outside of a new restaurant, fancy lights shining in the dark. She was meeting up with someone she met in high school, and they hadn't shown up yet. Maybe it was just a joke? Maybe they forgot? Rose felt like crying her eyes out and punching everything at the same time. Finally, a car pulled up on the front and her peer went out. Relief washed over her as she saw them get out of the car, holding something behind their backs. They smiled nervously as they spotted Rose, "Sorry I was late, I got stuck in traffic." They held out a bouquet, and a box of chocolates. "Oh! Thank you," she said nervously, her anxiety hitting her hard. She had a gut feeling that this would be a good date.

Short Story: "What would you like?" The waiter cooed. "Your famous spaghetti, the one with the olive and mushrooms please." As the waiter left blush rested her head on her paws and sighed. This was going well. When the food came the spaghetti was steaming, thin wisps of white curling off it. The mushrooms glowed under a thin coat of butter and the olives were juicey. This was going to be an amazing date!

Short Story:
Val waited nervously at her doorstep. She tapped her front paw on the ground, glancing around anxiously.
'Where is she?' Val wondered, tail flicking worriedly. 'Oh no, oh no, she's not really interested in me, is she? She's not even going to show up, this was such a horrible idea-'
Her thought process was cut off as her date rode up to her house. She got off her bike and grinned at Val.
A wave of relief washed over Val. 'She came,' She thought with a soft sigh.
Her date walked up to her, and Val smiled nervously at her. She pulled out a bouquet of flowers from behind her back.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" She said.
Val blushed a bit, taking the bouquet. "For-for me?" Her date nodded, blushing slightly.
"Oh, wait, I forgot! I, um, I made some fudge!" Val rushed inside to the kitchen, throwing open her fridge. She quickly pulled out the batch of fudge she had made earlier and slammed the fridge shut, exiting the house and trotting up to her date.
Her eyes widened. "You made these all by yourself?" She asked. Val nodded, a bit embarrassed.
"Cool." She replied. She looked back at her bike, which was a tandem. "So.. Should we go?"
"Yeah." Val nodded.

- time skip to after the date -

Val and her date left the restaurant they had eaten dinner at, holding paws.
The two sat down at a bench, taking a moment to watch the sunset before going home.
Val turned her head and looked into her date's eyes. Her date looked back, with a smile, then leaned forward and kissed Val.
Val's face flushed bright red, and when her date pulled away, Val leaned against her. The two sat and watched the sunset for awhile, before mounting the tandem bike and leaving.
