'Werifesteria Canis Aureus', also commonly called 'Weries' or even 'Gem Jackals' to locals. Named for the odd one wandering through the forest in many occasions, willingly on the look for an adventure.
Originally born from the smaller stalegmites/stallegtites, and formed over millions of years - these gems bare a striking resemblance to the Black backed jackal, which they grew up alongside.
They have crystals that form anywhere on their body and can be almost any shape or colour - often depicting something they admire or a found object. Their crystal gems are not shaped at birth, but rather change over time, which is usually seen as a 'right of passage' or a 'coming of age'. Their crystals glow in the dark and Weries have often known to help those lost in the woods home <3

Good Luck Charm and Why: Lucus’s good luck charm is, like his gem, a golden horseshoe. He doesn’t believe it is lucky just because it is golden or a horseshoe, but because it once belonged to the famous horse named Legacy. Legacy was a beautiful thoroughbred horse, and was the fastest in the area. Lucus would always go to the races with his mother, who used to work with and care for horses. They would be there all day, watching wistfully as the horses sped by. The owner of Legacy noticed young Lucus, and when Lucus went up to them for the first time to get an autograph, the owner gave Lucus one of his old horseshoes that had just been replaced. He was elated, and he keeps it hung on his wall above his bed. He believes that he can be as great as Legacy someday, and do amazing things. Even though this was some time ago, he still has it, and whenever he thinks he could use some extra luck, he looks at it for a while and remembers that wonderful day.

He was cursed by a witch at a young age and had horrible luck throughout moist of his life, making him shy and skittish.
