Maltese tiger stripe represents two aspects of Vitya's personality, the cool blue-gray representing his calm, relaxed disposition, the stripes representing his bravery in any situation. The gold represents the fact he thinks of himself as a king and wants to be treated as such. The half collar half chain design is simply because it looks great on him.
Personality:
The side of himself that Vitya shows to most people is the perfect one. The brave one who will chase the boogeyman up a tree, the one that will deal calmly and sweetly with anyone, the dog that will always give you a "Hello!" bark. What he tries to keep hidden from most is that he is flawed, too. He is extremely clingy, having abandonment issues stemming from being taken from his mother too young and being left at the shelter. But worst of all, in his opinion, is the fact he can't stand any sort of mess. He growls and grumbles while putting toys away, and while returning blankets to the bed. He howls lividly at Shinso if he DARES to leave things cluttering the counters. He won't even go outside if its rained, too much risk of mud-in-fur.
Likes:
Buckley, being social, fancy homemade food, things being organized.
Dislikes:
Mess, mud, "commoner food", being alone.

Vitya followed closely at his new owner's side, but as they reached the front door, Vitya stopped. He could smell another dog inside. Is that the "Buckley" that his owner had been talking about? Vitya was snapped out of his thoughts as his owner, Shinso, opened the door. They both entered, Vitya wandering further inside to explore as Shinso closed the door. As Vitya explored he suddenly felt someone watching him. He glanced over and saw a large black and white dog cowering behind the couch watching him. As Vitya opened his mouth to bark out a greeting, the other dog yelped in terror and slammed his face down into the floor and just stayed like that, whimpering pathetically. Vitya for the first time felt quite shaken, not sure how to handle this situation at all. He backed away quickly and went about exploring the rest of the house, being careful to avoid the couch where the distressed dog was.

A week passed and Buckley was still terrified of Vitya, avoiding him at all costs. Vitya was growing quite distressed himself, a feeling he really wasn't used to. Did he smell bad? Was he really that terrifying? No, this had to end, for both of them. Vitya gently picked up the bone Shinso had given him in his mouth, and carefully snuck his way into the office, where Buckley lay on a dog bed. As Vitya entered, Buckley shifted slightly and his muscles tensed, ready to run. Vitya walked carefully over to the scared dog and placed the bone down gently in front of his nose, before oh-so-slowly spinning and positioning himself to lay beside Buckley. Vitya could feel how tense the poor boy was, he could feel his shaking. He began to gently lick Buckley's head and ears, moving slowly as not to frighten him further. As he continued his attempts at comforting the nervous one, he could feel Buckley slowly growing less and less tense, he even grew so bold as to start to nibble at the bone. After what felt like forever, Vitya finally stopped and laid his head down next to his own paws and said "My name is Vitya. It is nice to finally meet you." Buckley froze up momentarily before relaxing again and letting out a small whine as he said "Buckley."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitya grumbled as he walked around the disastrous house, picking up one misplaced item at a time and making the trek back to its proper spot and placing it down before grabbing another and starting the process over again. Buckley laid on the couch, quietly observing his friend's weird behavior. They'd lived together for 3 weeks and he'd never seen Vitya this upset. As Vitya passed by again, this time growling about the mess, Buckley chuckled to himself. Vitya stopped and huffed at him "What's so funny?" "You, what are you even doing...?" Buckley replied. Vitya kicked a chew toy across the floor with his paw "The house is a mess! It has to be clean, everything has to go where it belongs, this is insanity!" Vitya barked out and then whined. He quickly grabbed the toy in his mouth and deposited it into the toy box, before grabbing a pillow in his mouth and dropping it on the couch. Buckley watched him silently, he thought to himself "Even the brave have weaknesses..." with that thought he pulled himself off the couch and began helping Vitya to return everything to where it goes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitya was sprawled out in front of the fireplace, practically drooling as he bathed in the warmth. His eyes opened a bit as he heard the familiar clicking of his friend's claws on the floor. He closed them again, not thinking too much of it until a moment later when he felt, and heard, Buckley, plop down on the floor beside him and move closer to him, his head resting by Vityas, his eyes closed. Vitya was stunned, Buckley had never come to him before, usually, Vitya would have to hunt Buckley down if he wanted him for something. Vitya closed his eyes again, and as he listened to the mix of the fire crackling and his friends breathing, he realized that Buckley really was his friend. He moved his head over a bit and rubbed it against Buckley's and was surprised when Buckley mirrored the action. Vitya had to be sure. "Hey, Buckley. Are we friends?" he said without opening his eyes. If they were open, he would've seen Buckley open his eyes and turn his head slightly towards the other dog. "....Are you really asking that?" Vitya snorted, a smile tugging at his face. "Just had to ask."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitya pinned Buckley to the floor, growling playfully as he nipped gently. "Oh shocking. You win again." Buckley said, the sarcasm in his voice not even vaguely hidden. "What can I say, I-" and at that Vitya's sentence was cut off by a nose pressed to his nose, and two blue eyes staring into his. Vitya found himself wondering how this nervous mess could always find ways to shock him. Vitya growled playfully and pulled away and then tugged Buckley's ear gently. "No distractions, that's cheating!" Vitya growled playfully as Buckley let out a whiny sigh. "You know I'm a lover, not a fighter.. I think that has to be some form of cheating." Buckley said as he pawed lazily at Vitya, making no real effort to escape. ".....Hm. I hadn't thought of that. Well, I guess as a big ol' cheater I need to be punished." Buckley didn't miss the sudden change in tone at the end of Vitya's sentence. Vitya hopped off Buckley and threw himself to the ground hard enough the cabinets shook. Buckley sat up watching curiously as Vitya rolled around wiggling and squirming. "Come on come on you gott-OOF" Vitya was once again interrupted by his companion, this time by Buckley flopping on Vitya's stomach and ribs, keeping him pinned. "Ooow... .. We even now?" Vitya whined. "Mm.... Yeah, okay." Buckley said. "So you can get off now." Vitya pointed out after 20 seconds of Buckley not moving. "Get off? Did I say I would do that?" Buckley said as he looked at his boyfriend, with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, and a wolfish grin tugging at his face.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitya and Buckley walked a bit ahead of Shinso, the duo occasionally bumping into each other playfully, absolutely carefree, so they were both shocked when Shinso tugged Buckley's leash, pulling him back a bit. Vitya looked around trying to figure out why Shinso was moving Buckley into their "protection bubble" as he called it. It didn't take him long to spot the group of school kids heading straight for them, talking about the "doggies". Vitya moved into position, keeping himself between the kids and Buckley while Shinso kept walking close behind Buckley, keeping him sandwiched safely in the middle, between the leashes, Vitya, and Shinso. As the kids got close enough they swarmed Vitya, petting and rubbing and pulling, Vitya wagging his tail sweetly and tolerating the harassment, hoping they didn't notice Buckley pressing himself into Shinso's legs, shaking in terror. Despite Shinso telling the kids to let them continue their walk and to leave his dog alone, they did not listen. One of the kids noticed Buckley and reached to pet him. Buckley saw his life flash before his eyes as he watched the approaching hand. Vitya acted swiftly and put his paw on the kids hand pushing it away as he whined sweetly at the child, rubbing his head against the confused kid, demanding more attention from the child, which was reluctantly given. After a few minutes of the petting, the kids got bored and wandered off. Shinso hugged both of his dogs and apologized for not being able to make them go away sooner. Buckley gave him a lick on the face, very grateful his human protected him, as he always does. He turned his head and licked Vitya across the face, even more grateful to his mate for going above and beyond to keep the strangers away. "Thank you, my love." Buckley whined, showering Vitya in nuzzles and licks. "Of course, my dear." Vitya responded softly, showering Buckley in licks and nuzzles of his own in an attempt to further comfort him. A few minutes later, everything was back to normal as they continued their walk, the pair of dogs playfully bumping into each other as they walked ahead of their human, on their way home to eat all of the food they could fit in their faces.
Relationship with Vasco
Vitya laid by Buckley, silently comforting the nervous dog with an absentminded lick on his head as he stayed focused on the scene before him. A large dog like him, made even larger by his excessive amount of fluff, was walking around a small woman lying on the ground in the alley. In the past, anytime Shinso had made an attempt to touch her or move closer, the large fluffy beast would push his hand away with a warning growl and a small show of teeth that said "Don't try that again", so Shinso now sat a few feet away messing with something the woman handed him while keeping an eye on it. Vitya heard a noise from the woman, and he started to get up to go to her, but before he could, the big fluffy dog was lying beside her with his head on her chest, whimpering and whining softly. After a few minutes of this, the woman laid a hand on the big fluffy head on her chest and gently patted his head, Vitya noticed during this time the whining had not stopped. After what felt like forever, she spoke so softly even Vitya's sensitive ears barely heard, "Vasco, off." Just like that, the big fluff, Vasco, rose to his feet and stood beside his human as she used him to pull herself up and then leaned against him, using him to stay standing. Shinso slowly approached, talking, asking if she was okay, what she needed and if she wanted to be walked home. Vitya felt a small rumble in his throat when he saw the woman flash her teeth at him before remembering that wasn't a sign of aggression in humans. "I'm fine! Vasco will make sure I get home safe." She said as she rubbed the dogs head. Vitya watched the two humans chat back and forth, his attention switching between them and Vasco, eyes fixed on the small woman using him to support herself, occasionally shifting slightly when she began to wobble a bit. Vitya almost felt jealous that he didn't have a purpose like that. He admired the work Vasco was obviously putting into keeping her standing and keeping Shinso away at the same time. That couldn't possibly be an easy job. Vitya was pulled from his thoughts when he noticed Shinso handing the object back to her, a phone he realized. After a few more moments of talking, they parted ways, Vitya secretly hoping to see "Vasco" again, and ask about his work.
