"And yet, each month, I felt the full moon enriching me with its energy. There had to be something I could do to escape . ."
"Once I had mastered the rats, I was ready for the men. And during the next full moon, I walked free for the first time in decades."
            - Hama, "The Puppetmaster" from Avatar: The Last Airbender

    Image
if you're not familiar with AtLA or LoK, since waterbenders draw their power from the moon, some master waterbenders may be able to bloodbend under a full moon.
the four depicted above are masters who have demonstrated bloodbending abilities; from left to right is Katara, Hama (the inventor), Tarlok, Amon, and Yakone

[Kuro and pic are from the game Ori and the blind forest; I am making up the information (it will not be related to the game]

Kuro, the essence of darkness in the form of a giant owl, usually lurks in the shadows of the night. Even when moonlight shines down she keeps herself well-hidden- with the exception of the full moon. Kuro is a calculating and malicious beast, preying on anyone that she can catch. She is usually unstoppable, and in the few cases that had resulted in encounters with her were never heard from again after realising what the dark mass was.

The full moon, however, highlights Kuro's every move, deeming her visible and vulnerable to an attack. The moon aids her opponents, shining light onto the texture of her feathers and casting her shadow for many too see. In this way, the moon itself is her worst enemy. Despite that, however, she does nothing about it-

After all, shadows can't survive without the light.

In Scotland, all members of the MacLaine clan, from the Lochbuie region, were afraid to hear the sound of hooves and the clanging of harnesses at night. They feared, indeed, to see then appear a phantom horse led by a rider without head, symbol of imminent death in the clan.
The mysterious rider was named Ewen of Little Head and was the heir to a leader of the MacLaine clan. But he envied his father, his wealth and plotted his loss.
The two men quarreled without result and then tried to settle their differences by arms. In 1538, the two parties threw their troops against each other and the son was savagely beheaded by supporters of the father.

creature: is Princess Kaguya acceptable? In the story she would cry on the nights of full moons because she knew she would eventually have to return to her people on the moon. It's a great story, I totally recommend reading the whole thing :)
