favorite flower;; dierde's favorite flower is the udumbara flower, a flower that is said to bloom only once every 3000 years. on her home planet, this flower was very significant to her culture, and the flower represented fortune, good luck, favor from the gods, and similar such things. kalons with the colors of the udumbara flower were considered to be blessed, and eternally innocent and pure. dierde has always believed these things, and holds the flower very close to her heart partly for that reason, even on earth. now that she's so far away from home, she can't readily access the flower or see it anymore. the memory of this flower is the only thing about her planet that she has left, and the other reason it's her favorite. without it, she feels like she's lost her identity, and fears one day she'll forget the place she came from, but her favorite flower helps alleviate these insecurities and anxieties from her mind, even for just a little while.````````

personality;; dierde is a very calm, collected person. like the soothing, rolling waves of an ocean, she glides along with the tide listlessly, carefree. yet she is also spontaneous, having a knack for doing the unexpected and surprising others. she often gives gifts of pretty flowers and bouquets to those she's friends with, and loves to stargaze. she often spends her time dreaming simultaneously of wanting to go home, and staying on earth to see all that it has to offer her inquisitive mind. she flits from person to person, getting attached, introducing them to everyone else, then moving onto the next person. some have accused her of making them one of her projects, but dierde really doesnt mean to -- she just wants people to be friendly towards each other again, to form real connections with living, breathing, psychical people, to appreciate the beauty of nature around them, not the picture of it on their screen. on her planet, technology used for recreational use was not like on earth. most technological advancements were for building up a stronger, better army. these technologies on earth make little sense to her, but she tries not to let her confusion cloud her judgement. she's generally very open-minded, and has an affinity for nature and gardening. on her home planet, she had a very large garden, and wants to start one here. she misses a lot of things from her home planet, especially her family, but she has hope one day she will see them, and for now, the dreams keep her company.
dierde came from a very 'green' planet. nature and biology were very large focuses of knowledge on her home planet, and dierde owes most of her knowledge on those topics to that. however, earth is not like her home planet. because of this, she's determined to learn everything about these topics that she can. she often takes long walks in the forest or hiking through the surrounding mountains, just feeling what earth has to offer her. she's a very introspective and spiritual person, and has strong beliefs on certain things. she loves to come out here and just think, let the energy from nature around her soothe her mind and allow her to relax, reminding her it's okay to just stop and think for awhile. dierde often ends up napping for a few hours, and wakes up covered in flowers and leaves and grass. usually, it's night time by then, and she goes home and straight back to bed to sleep, dreaming of everything she had thought of in the woods. dierde often spends her time day-dreaming or dreaming, wondering the possibilities and thinking about her life and what she's done on earth so far. it often doesnt get her anywhere, but she likes to think about these things regardless.
dierde can be a good friend or just someone to be around when it's needed, given she's not sleeping or moody. she'll take her friends anywhere they want, within reason, and is happy to buy them things they want or food while they go to places, if she can afford to do so. but... some part of her admittedly feels dissatisfied with her friendships. when she first came to earth, dierde had great expectations, great thoughts and ideals about how earth would be. but for the first few months, she was alone; avoided even, she dare say. dierde had wanted to see places but didnt have any idea where to start; she had thought by now she would've had friends to do that, but she didnt. so dierde made some. but she ended becoming more of a supportive pillar than an actual person and a friend to anyone. dierde feels very alone because of this, unsatisfied with her relationships and constantly trying to find ones that will make her feel both satisfied and happy. she loves her friends dearly, but she doesnt think her friends think of her the same way she does them. she feels she'll only ever be something not from earth, an alien, a pillar of support for other people. she doesnt want to be alone though -- being alone again... that's what scares her the most.
