Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

These two are puppies from an abandoned litter that was adopted and raised by SergeantWinter's custom Maisie. She can't keep all four of them with her now that they've grown up, so these two are looking for a new home.

Gained Trust ;; At first I had tried the usual method, tossing some treats and waiting patiently. After the first couple days it became obvious that this just wasn't going to work, if anything it was doing the opposite of what I needed. Before I did any more damage to the situation I stepped back and simply watched Maisie and the pups. She was one of the most nervous and antisocial dogs I had ever seen. In this case slow was better than nothing so I hatched a new plan.
The next morning I came out with a pan of food and refilled their water bucket. I then backed off to about 20 yards away and sat down opening a book to read. I could see Maisie out of the corner of my eye sitting and watching me trying to figure out what my plan was. Twenty minutes had gone by and still neither of us had moved. (wip)
