This female is of average size and weight. She is very fluffy, with amber colored eyes. she seems to have a very proud temperament and is skeptical of strangers. Her coloration is sable with husky like white markings, that seem to extend part her belly in a lighter, rust color that extends down her hind legs. One of her front legs has a darker marking. the pads and claws on said paw seem darker in color as well. Her Tail is healthy and curled. All in all she is a healthy looking female.

An Alaskan Garter usually has a short neck, stumpy paws, a long body and thick, heavy paws.
The Breeds fur is thick and in a layered coat that protects it against the cold, a feature of this breed is the thick fluff on its cheeks.
The body is heavy and under the fur is a thick layer of fat which protects the Garter Hound from the icy cold.
Its paws are wide and have fur between the pads to protect them from the icy underground.
The garders longeated body and wide set stance allow it to distribute its weight easier over icy surfaces and it makes it very unlikely for the canine to break trough ice.

The breed is known to suffer from Hip problems at a high age and hence it is recomended to keep the saddle over its shoulder and upper spine.

I had been out and about the town, being a bit curious and young. I can't recall much, but i do remember leaving the town with my malamute companion Kara. We were out walking, mostly nothing more than exploring and me playing around with Kara, but the snow seemed to get heavier than it was when we left, and before i knew it we were lost. The snowstorm grew thicker, almost blinding my sight. It wasn't until i heard a deep growl that i realized. Far from the town and very vulnerable. Kara was barking and growling, and i knew something was wrong. After a few moments of such, i backed up out of fear and ended up stumbling back. And there she was. She was the first ever Alaskan Garter i've ever encountered, and it was paralyzing. By some luck, though, she didn't seem entirely too aggressive. Mostly seeming defensive of the area we were in, that could be assumed as her home.

I remember pulling whatever that was edible out of the pocket of my coat, and throwing it onto the ground in front of her paws, scrambling back a bit. She wasn't too trusting of what i had thrown her, a mix of various berries and crackers along with a couple dog treats for Kara i think, but she eventually picked them up one by one, eating all of it with ease. My memory after that is a bit blurry, but one thing i do remember after that, atleast, was that she seemed to stick near Kara and I, protecting us during the snowstorm. Once it blew over, we parted ways and as foolish as it felt, i remember thanking the large canine before i went home. But it became habit, coming back every other day or so to feed the Alaskan Garter that i had started to proudly call 'Zodiac', after long months of this, feeding and tentative touches or pets, she trusted me enough for me to touch her, lightly patting her head at times and sitting next to her when she laid down, it took a good.. 7, 8 months? for her to trust me enough for me to lead her back to the town. She was wary, and she didn't follow me there much at all, but with time we got closer, and she's stuck around me ever since.

Also, her and Kara eventually became relaxed around eachother, they get along good! And it was definitely an interesting sight to see them laying near eachother and just being able to look at the size difference of the two.

In the blizzard like storm, I was trying to get through the plains on my sled without having to stop or delay. I ran over something and knew I had to stop and see. A dead deer, dead before I ran it over. A loud whine came from behind me to see this big pup right here. They keep looking at the food that was frost bitten and nasty so I brought her down to the town to get her a good meal of chicken and pork. She followed me home and slept on my bed

Small Story of how you tamed this lady: Anastasia was a rare sight to see, she would ever
so often pass through the forest. Still she was cautious and stayed away from me. After a while she
disappeared, I went searching for her out of pure curiosity and I found her eventually. Her back left
foot was caught in a trap, one that tightened the more the animal moved. Breaking her free from the
trap she limped away luckily her foot was unharmed. Once I started to see her more she came up to me
as if she was thanking me. She eventually got so comfortable around me that she even let me put a saddle
on her. Now she refuses to leave me alone and follows me around the house, can't say I complain.

The snow was just beginning to melt, but everyone in our little town knew there was more snow on the way. Everybody was tired of the cold by now, and just wanted spring. The wind came by often, and it was regular for someone to be wearing a puffy winter jacket. It was getting warmer, however. The birds were finally coming back, and the animals were showing their faces.
On a rather warm day, I was hiking through the woods near my house. The sounds of the wildlife filled the air. I had brought a bag filled out two sandwiches, a smaller bag of mixed fruits, and a container of noodles. I set the bag down on a rock and sat down next to the rock. After a bit, I had found that I was growing tired, and allowed myself to drift to sleep.
I woke up to a large, canine-like animal scavenging through my bag. I stared at the animal for a second before making a clucking noise at it. The animal stopped. We stared at each other for a few moments before what seemed like a she backed into a gap in the boulders that she had been using as her den. She glanced at the bag and at me, back again, until I finally realized she was hungry and wanted more food. I peeked inside the bag to see she had eaten a sandwich and had started to get into the berries. After a while of coaxing, I was able to pet her and gain her trust.
Day after day, I trekked into the woods to feed her. I had begun to call her Naveen, meaning "beautiful," for that she was. One of those days, months after I had first encountered her, she had decided to trail me back to my yard, but was too timid to come into the house. The next morning, Naveen was laying on the porch, waiting for me.
