Having been born into a totalitarian city, Pherix's character was shaped by the harsh restrictions and requirements of such a place. Several times he's been asked what he thought he'd be like if he was born in an easier era; his answer is always that he prefers not to think of such things. At first impression he can come off as stiff, cold, even. His neutral expression often appears stony and his speech is either short or vague. He's not much of a talker.

However, once you get to know him it's clear that he's got a high drive to perform and excel. Never once has he let up on practice until his goal is achieved. Oftentimes he can be found muttering to himself on how he can improve. He's also got a hilariously distinct attitude of general humor, believe it or not. It seems to directly contradict his appearance and his personality, but it's a core part of his character to make light of situations that would otherwise drown him in negative thoughts. Pherix is also incredibly protective of those close to him; he would rather be killed than allow any harm to come by a friend. This can be both a benefit and a downfall, as it can be used against him.

Takouhi
His greatest friend. He met
her on the streets at night,
where she led him to the
Blacklights. They tell each
other everything.

Fʀɪᴇɴᴅs
Velma
One of the Blacklight
instructors. She's a little...
odd, sometimes, but he
appreciates her guidance.
Halime (top)
Pherix doesn't always
understand Halime. She's
very gentle, and he's...
well, not. Nevertheless,
they're good friends,
and they often swap
snacks.
Penninah
Penny is a bold, rambunctious
little kit, and Pherix is often
overwhelmed by how much
energy she has. They get
along, but he usually lets
her be.
Pembe
Daughter of his enemy? Sure,
why not? They get along well,
but Pherix can't help but be
wary of her. It makes him
feel a little guilty whenever
he sees her all alone.
Trinity
He enjoys Trinity's presence.
The green kit is a warm
persona, and Pherix likes
training with her.
Atlas
As one of the trainers
for Blacklight, there's a
level of respect and
professionalism that has
to be kept. While Velma
breaks those boundaries
easily, Atlas upholds them.
It's like pouring hot and
cold water on yourself
simultaneously. Pherix
prefers Velma.
Sushi
What's not to love? [Name]
and Pherix hit it off from
the start. The bold, mouthy
young kit is a good friend
to Pherix.

Eɴᴇᴍɪᴇs
Thierry
Pherix's first impression of
Thierry was a bitter kalon
with hatred in his heart.
That alone was enough to
cause him to dislike the
grey kalon; attempting to
further corrupt and control
the city was just rubbing
salt in the wound.
Mercel
Even though he hated the
orphanage, he hated getting
caught on the streets more.
Somehow, Mercel tended
to be the guard that found
him. At best they can't
stand each other.

Hɪsᴛᴏʀɪᴄᴀʟ Sᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ
Pherix first encountered the Backlights when Takouhi led him there at night. Through their training over the course of two years, he grew to be in peak physical condition. After a series of intelligence-gathering missions he was sent on, he experienced several encounters with soldiers, guards, and even agents sent to incapacitate, capture, or even kill him. While embarking on one of these missions with Takouhi, he learned of the existence of Thierry, a powerful government figurehead whose intent was to flush out and shut down Blacklight.

The more he learned, the larger a target he became. At one point he was corned in an alleyway by agents sent to take him down; at the time his friend Paxton was there with him, and it was only through their combined effort that they managed to escape. Pherix made it his goal to learn as much as he could about Thierry and take him down.

Further investigation revealed that Thierry's daughter was actually Pembe, another Blacklight member, who was bent on reaching out to her father and saving him from what he had chosen. She explained to him that she'd run away from home years ago and found the Blacklights. Together they decided to sneak out on their own, as, after seeking permission from Velma, one of Pherix's trainers, they were turned down and forbidden from going after Thierry under the premise of such a concept being too dangerous.

At night they stole into the large building where Thierry worked. They were discovered when Pembe accidentally tripped an alarm, and after exhausting ordeals they reached Thierry's office--an area on high lockdown. Pembe struggled to reason with her father as Pherix defended their position from oncoming guards and soldiers. It was to no avail. After a snarling confrontation between Pherix and Thierry, the two kits abandoned the building and quickly made their escape, disappearing once more into the streets. mere seconds later the charges they had set at the foundations of the buildings went off. The skyscraper collapsed in a violent inferno; whether Thierry survived or not was never released to the public.

As it stands today, Pherix is number one on the greylist--the list of kalons designated to be abducted and subjected to unknown punishments. He maintains Blacklight alongside his fellow members, ever vigilant of Thierry's return and possible threats to the city.
