The Pickup
Stephanie gripped the steering wheel of the truck tighter as the Canadian AISP Adoption Center came into view just down the road. It has been some time since she and her husband, Aaron, had adopted their first Seal Pony, Red. As much as she has tried, Stephanie wasn't able to turn the grumpy, stubborn pony into a loving companion. Now Red lives his days out as he pleases in the enormous back pasture of the ranch.
Anticipation caused the red headed blonde to drum get fingers against the wheel as she slowed to enter the facility. Stephanie had been casually looking over some of the AISP up for adoption when a photo of a chocolate stallion with pale eyes had made her catch her breath. The handsome pony's expression was one of a lost and hurting soul. Immediately, something inside the woman just knew that she HAD TO make an inquiry into the thin, sad, and sorrowful looking fellow. So, a few weeks later, here they were to pick up her newest project for their ranch program.
As she put the truck in park and cut the engine, her husband Aaron woke with a start from the passenger seat he'd been sleeping for the last several hours of the trip."Come on, sleeping beauty, we're here", Stephanie jokes as she grabs a stack of paperwork and forms from the dashboard of the truck. Taking a deep breathe to steady her excited nerves, the tall gal turns towards the barn and main office, ready to begin this adventure once again.
Health Exam
Aaron climbed out of the truck, yawning and stretching, as Stephanie was greeted by a friendly, smiling, middle aged woman. "Welcome! You must be the couple from the States, here to pick up our wallflower, eh?" Stephanie reached out to shake her hand, smiling and nodding. "He is waiting in one of our stalls, why don't we take you guys to meet him while I look over your paperwork. It shouldn't take long to verify everything since you are previous adopters."
Stephanie grabbed Aaron's hand as they followed the lady to the front of a large, comfy stall. Inside, hanging his head in the corner at the back of the stall, wastheir new stallion. Stephanie's heart skipped a beat when he turned to look at his visitors and her gaze met his.
***WIP: My tablet is experiencing technical difficulty lately, so I will be attempting to fill this all out on a small screened, cheap Android phone. Sorry for any delays in his story, I promise I've got a decently awesome one planned for him though***
