I'm so sorry this is late I'm sure you don't still want to be judging these now and I'm aware it's past the deadline, but this beauty came right when I was in the middle of some huge responsibilities in my life. That's not meant to be a sob story, if I can no longer keep him just let me know - I thought I'd just explain myself rather than assume it was still ok for me to be doing the tasks. Thanks so much for the opportunity to have this boy c:

First Meeting

I was super excited to get my first Hyrulian Gypsy. Everyone seemed to have one nowadays and the perfect opportunity had popped up for me to adopt a new yearling. I knew hardly anything of the yearling I was to buy as the conditions behind the sale was that I would be allocated a random yearling from the adoption event, but I was up for the challenge anyway.

As I rolled up to the huge barn I could hear lots of whinnying from many many boisterous yearlings inside. Which call was of my gypsy I wondered as I walked up admiring the beautiful barn building and went into the office. I gave my name and a few other details to confirm I was the right person to be picking up the yearling, and then I was dutifully led to find them by a teenage boy in an official Hyrulian Gypsy jacket. At this stage I didn't even know if it was to be a mare of a stallion I was going to get, but I'd already chosen a name, a unisex name so that it wouldn't matter the gender. I had been listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers way too much, and wanted the show name to be Under The Bridge. Then the barn name was Brooklyn after the brook that would flow "under the bridge", and in tribute to another of my favourite songs, this time Hello Brooklyn by All Time Low. I hoped the yearling wouldn't mind me blasting music around the yard all the time!

The barn we entered was very spacious, and pristine not to mention organised. It was all very impressive compared to my large shambles of a stables, but at the same time the sheer amount of horse and people we passed was a little intimidating. When we finally stopped at a stall with a stunning blue coloured stallion, I practically squealed with excitement. "He looks just like a Brooklyn" I exclaimed gleefully, "is this one really mine?!"
"Yep, he's all yours and I think he's just about ready to go home with you."

As the boy ran off to get the final paperwork I needed to sign to confirm I had picked Brooklyn up I just stood and stared at the beautiful stallion in front of me. He was a blue taffy I knew from my interest in genetics, with white tobiano markings coming down over his back and backside like icing on a cake. He looked reasonably relaxed and the really loud yearling in the next stall over didn't seem to bother him, but still he stood at the back of his stall. His ears were pricked forward as he tried to suss me out. He must have seen many new people walking past all the time yet he still seemed wary.

The person who had helped me was taking a while and I started talking to the yearling. "Hey buddy, do you want to come say hi?" He just looked me straight in the eyes and made no move. "You're going to be called Brooklyn" I smiled at him. I slowly extended my hand into the stable to see if that would intrigue him enough to step closer. It worked because his curiosity got the better of him and he took a few steps before extending his nose to sniff my hand. When I moved my hand to stroke his nose he flinched and threw his head up quickly, but he just as quickly brought it back to nudge against my hand sniffing for food. It was going to be great fun to train him as he seemed like an uncut diamond, with a gem of a personality under a lot of nervous energy.

The cheery kid came back with a few other hands and together we got Brooklyn into my trailer and they helped me hook it up to my car. I was surprised at how easy going the stallion was for his age, yet he definitely seemed rather nervous of people touching him. As I drove away in a cloud of dust I couldn't believe my luck!
