Sunlit Warrior)
He saw the mare standing on the other side of the fence, peacefully grazing on the nearly untouched grass of the other side. She did not seem to notice him at first, or so he thought. It took a bit for him to realize her ears were perked and pointed in his direction as she seemed to listen, but did not respond to his presence. He watched as she lifted her head and just barely turned her head towards him. "Is there something I can help you with?" she asked, not looking directly at the stallion. "Uh... no, I was just curious as you who you were." he replied nervously, embarrassed as he spoke. "I am Sunlit Warrior, but you may call be Sunny." she replied, giving him a smile. "That is a nice name, I am The Gentle King, but everyone calls me Sabu." he introduced himself. "Sabu? That is an interesting name, not one I have heard before." she said as she seemed to mull over the new name. "Why won't you look at me?" he asked, letting his curiosity get the better of him. She turned her head a little more, and then sighed. "I am blind." she replied simply. He did not reply right away, unsure of what to make of the information. "Will you be back here tomorrow?" he asked all of a sudden, making her lift a brow questioningly. "It is a good grazing spot. I may be back." Sabu nodded his head "Good, I will see you again tomorrow." he seemed to be on a mission all of a sudden as he turned around and headed further back into the field he called home and rejoining the small herd of the lower field.
He awoke quite early and rushed away from the shelter where the others were still lazing about, slowly getting up and getting moving as the sun started to rise above the horizon. He was on a mission though, scouring the pasture for any flowers he could gather, trying to gather as many as he could carry. Purple and pink ones, blue and yellow, he had a bouquet of colors hanging out of his mouth, but he did not want them for their looks. He grinned to himself as he headed back towards the fence that separated the small herd from the wild, untamed lands beyond. He reached the spot he had met Sunny the day before, but did not see her across the fence. He looked up one way and then down the other, deciding to follow the fence further up. He walked slowly as to not miss seeing the other mare, and soon a somewhat familiar figure popped up in his vision. He smiled and picked up into a trot, making the mare lift her head and perk her ears.
"Sabu? Is that you?" she asked a little nervously, making sure it was the stallion and not some predator or strange horse. "Yes." he replied, though his words were mumbled as he still had the flowers in his mouth. He watched her lift a brow and walk over, stopping just on the other side of the fence. "Do you have something in your mouth?" she asked "Yes, for you." he mumbled around the gift he had gathered for her that morning. "Flowers, for you." he added when he got no response. "Thank you, they must be beautiful, though I wish I could see them." she replied. Sabu balanced the bouquet on top of a fence post and was finally free to speak without mumbling. "You may not be able to see them, but they smell lovely." he told her. He had picked them for their scents. He knew she probably spent a lot of time listening, that was something she could do, but smelling the flowers was another and he hoped that she would like the gift. She seemed surprised, but soon she leaned forward and sniffed the flowers, smiling as she lifted her head again. "Thank you." her smiled made him melt a little, making him glad that he spent the time to gather the gift for a new friend. "I am glad you like them!" he said quite cheerfully. He heard the whistle and looked behind him, then back at the mare. "I have to go, but I do hope you like the flowers, and maybe we can meet again?" he asked, making her chuckle and then nod. He smiled as he turned and trotted away from the fence, heading towards the gate where the herd and his owner would be waiting.
