Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.
Standard: custom shine; Common: Hair edits that go beyond jawline and custom tail.
Someone suggested a snow leopard bab with long hair... so here we go. //v// I really like their outcome, oh my... I would love to keep them, but that wouldn't be fair (especially since I took someone else's suggestion, lol).
I'm feeling super unoriginal today with competition ideas, so this will be an impress me contest. The only requirement (beside their name and gender lol), is that you will have to give me a detailed description of their personality. I want to know their outer personality, as well as their internal struggles. Layers to a character is always fun to see and pick at. Prettying up and extras are fine. Remember: quality over quantity.
This will end on July 27th at 11 PM EST. <3

xANNELISE NOELLE AVANT
ANNELISE— graceful light
NOELLE— life
AVANT— sensitive and practical└
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx┘

female • crown princessmood music
ever since annelise was a child, she's always been "the one". the one
who would would take her father's place, who would be the fairest,
as her mother would say. and for a while, she took her place in the
hierarchy with stride. she was proud to be this figure of awe for most,
this unattainable thing of beauty. she knew she was special, and
she made sure everyone knew.
but growing and learning changed her little mind.
year by year, she was exposed to the.. nastier parts of
being in such a high position. angry citizens in the court,
gray hair and not leaving bed from exhaustion.
whispering servants, tall tales, rumors. and as annelise
heard the thoughts and the whispers and jests more
frequently, she began to dislike this life she was living.
she wished for a more casual life, and to enjoy the little
things in the little bit of the carefree life she lived.

the onion skin// outside
as much as annelise dislikes what she's seen, she knows she has a duty.
she is driven by promises and sincerity and is aware that leaving would do
her family no good. therefore, to avoid disappointing anyone, annelise
puts on a face of coolness and being collected. she's reserved, cool as ice,
and everything that she thinks would be seen as an appropriate queenly figure.
her outside figure is one that is reserved from others, and icy. she nods
in acknowledgement, speaks with a tight tone, and her movements are
always precise and well-thought out.
annelise is always punctual, even to the most trivial of events. she lives to show
visible perfection, even when not asked of her. her masquerade of queenly-ness
is a game she knows she must play for the welfare of everyone around her

behind the mask // inside
behind the ice-cold mask of exact steps and curt smiles,
is the real annelise. not a princess, not clean, not beautiful in the
way everyone sees with neatly done hair and clean features. she's
beautiful in the way of nature, instead. the way where you
see happy children dancing in the rain and flowers in a little one's hair.
birds singing early in the morning and the rare sighting of a mother deer
and her fawn.
she's still very much herself, with her polite smiles and laughs
and reservedness. but she's more free when she's alone. she isn't shy,
as many expect of her. she doesn't change much besides her fake elegance.
she's rather messy, loving mud and water and everything messy. it's a change
from the uniform of everything around her.
annelise is very straightforward. she doesn't hesitate when asking for what
she wants, and there's no stuttering or confusion. she hates it when it gets like it
and doesn't understand why everyone can't just straight-out say what they want. she
is also naive in an odd sense. she recognizes that there are problems, but she
never can identify exactly what. she's always been curious and loves to probe, but
usually refrains from such activity, as it has been dubbed as being annoying and rude.
she may be curious, but annelise is no girl for rule breaking. well, aside from her
secret outdoor visits and meeting a "commoner". but that's a story for another time.
— there's no sun!
the princess is also a homebody.. but her home isn't where
she sleeps at night. it's where she spends her free days,
with shimmering lakes and chirps. her home is the forest,
about ten miles from her home-home. it's funny how
birds are better friends than the ones selected for her by the court.
annelise loves everything about nature, but her favorite is
thunderstorms. she knows being in a heavily wooded area during
lightning is unsafe, but she just can't help herself. letting the rain wash
away her drawn on features and drench her over-styled hair in water.
she likes it. because the rest of the world knows her as no one. no one
special, no one important. there, she can just be a girl who likes rain and
birds and laughing and smiling.

in the dark
!
HOMETOWN - Hometown describes how Annelise feels about her home. A theme through the music is the hometown not being aware of everything, and the singer being able to bring that light. It could be said that Annelise is one of the only upper-class members that is aware that not everything is centric around their problems and wealth. "Our hometown's in the dark" refers to how many people Annelise knows.. Don't know about everything they're missing by acting so materialistic and snooty. The shadows and spirits referred to in the first verse also represent how Annelise feels about everyone watching her every move. "My shadow tilts it's head at me" shows how she feels about her dual-act she has- the coldness around the court and the naivety and innocence she really possesses.
NEVERLAND- Neverland is a wake-up call, in a sense. The darker mood of the song and the jolting tunes are perfect for a theme as Annelise grew older. "Will we ever find our neverland? Will we ever be at peace again?" Is how Annelise wants everything to change. Neverland is a place from Peter Pan where children never get older, and that's the feeling that possesses Annelise. She doesn't want to grow up, she "sleeps to numb the pain" of her responsibilities and eventual monarch rule. It's a balance of knowing she needs to mature and change, but still wanting to be tucked in with a teddy and piece of chocolate.
PARADISE- Paradise is a song that better encompasses Annelise's dreams. While Neverland is a theme for her growing older and realizing that, Paradise centers around the ever-lasting dreams she keeps. The chorus is "I dream of paradise" which is true for the princess. Her fantasies won't come true, and she knows it, because she has too much of a reputation to change who she is completely. "Life goes on, it gets so heavy; the wheel breaks the butterfly" is an explanation of how she feels in reality- that the world is heavy on everyone. She's aware that she's not the only one with difficulties, but can't help feeling upset and sad over her own silly problems.
RAINY DAY- The Rainy Day theme has no words, but rather expresses Annelise's favorite sounds. Gentle and soothing music with the sound of raindrops in the background makes for a perfect afternoon. Being a princess has its perks, as she can request music be played for her whenever she wishes. Usually, if she's feeling down, Annelise turns to soft music to soothe her. Although the Rainy Day music isn't exactly what she loves, the calming atmosphere it brings is enough to consider it a theme for her.

It was the middle of winter and snowing heavily. The best time, in Annelise's opinion, because it meant that her parents slept in and she could leave whenever without anyone noticing. Days when she woke up last were the worst since that meant her day was already planned and she had to be stuffed into some dress that was too tight around her waist for the sake of appearance. But winter days? She was up first and could shrug on an old cloak and boots and just leave, the suffocating feeling of the castle disappearing as quickly as her footprints in the soft snow. Not only did she feel better, but the snow was relaxing and she swore she could hear bells chime.
Naturally, Annelise stood up as quietly as she could to avoid waking anyone, and changed into her warm cloak and worn boots; her favorite clothes, she had to admit. And before anyone could stop her, she ran out her door and down the staircase, through the doorway. Pushing open the gates, she smiled, letting out a laugh at her escape. It was always easy, but gave her such a rush of pure joy. Annelise pushed the cloak over her face wanting to avoid recognition as she trenched to the nearest town. It was what she hated- her face being seen and being bowed down to, or odd looks, or whispering. Just once, she wanted to be able to act like a middle or lower class girl who just wanted to explore in the snow.
Oddly enough, although Annelise enjoyed nature, she never took anything home. There was a mindset in the castle that anything not man-made was dirty and gross. That included plants and feathers and anything that couldn't be found in a seamstress' room. So of course, whenever the princess was out, she would stop and look at everything, never having been exposed to much of it before. The only thing she ever remembered was a tiny basket of flowers being left at her doorstep once, but they were thrown out before she could even read the note. The outside had her name, which was delicately written with flourishing letters and dramatic arches. She so wished she had kept the letter to herself. And if she was ever able to identify the sender, she was sure that they would be the best of friends.
The time was passing quickly and as the day went on, it seemed to get colder and colder. Snow continued to blow in her face and it seemed she was off track from her usual path to the glowing forest. She felt hopeless- not only would she already be viewed as fragile for being a female in a royal family, but that she was shivering and lost. How utterly embarrassing.
It had felt like an eternity before she stumbled across a tiny village set-up. It was barely a village from what she could see, just a couple homes here and there and pots of flowers under a sheltered cover to protect them from the monstrous snow. Annelise had walked past them a nagging thought in her mind whenever she recalled them. It was weird, since they didn't seem too odd. But they were familiar nonetheless, and she couldn't tell why. It wasn't a permanent place where they were set, just a tent with a scripted writing carved into a piece of wood- "Wait!" she exclaimed, lifting her head fast enough to clear some snow from her head. It was the same handwriting of whoever had sent her the flowers.
The princess ran to the shoddy shop, pushing open the door quickly. Inside was a young male, his eyes widening as she entered.
"H-hello," he stuttered in a quiet, yet warm voice. Like tea.
"Greetings. I couldn't help but admire the handwriting and plants you have," Annelise replied, her voice wavering in the attempt to keep the cool tone stable.
He looked surprised. "Well, uh, I mean- Of course? I did send some to you.. I'm Rowan. I'm sorry if this is disrespectful, Your Majesty," he said, yelping to exclaim the title. He sounded confused as to why her greeting hadn't been one filled with more warmth.
Rowan the mysterious sender, then. She had never received his message, and therefore informed him of so. He turned red, and she was confused. If she didn't know any better, it would seem that there was some puppy-love going on and she couldn't return the feelings. At the very least, she would take something from him to let him know that he was appreciate. He was awfully kind and sweet, but not attractive. He wasn't much like her imagined, but he was sweet and that meant something.
"I apologize, but I fear I cannot return the feelings in the air here. Although, the flowers you have are extraordinary. May I pay you for some?" she said, attempting to sound disconnected from the world when in reality, all she could think about was the trouble she'd be in if she didn't return home soon and the laughs that would be given if she told her little story.
"Oh, of course," Rowan replied, sounding dejected. "They're forgetmenots, how amusing. And consider them.. On the house."
With his words, Annelise broke into something she rarely showed outwardly- a smile. She picked the smallest of the flowers, as they were filled with the most vibrant colors and wove them into her hair. Without another word, she waved goodbye to the merchant Rowan and trenched back to leave to her home.
Since the blizzard day with the snowy village and the merchant with the tea voice, Annelise has not gotten rid of the flowers. They remind her that kindness exists in the world, even if it's as small as a forgetmenot flower.
