Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

I am claiming my Baltic Husky!
full name;; Remains of Something Beautiful
call name;; Ashe (pronounced Ash)
tasks;;
Task 1 - Welcoming your new dog home - Complete
I had just gotten back from the rescue center, with a cute little girl that I decided to name Ashe. She had a beautiful Blue Irish Ticked coat. She seemed sad and lonely, and I had been told that she was surrendered after her owner had lost his job. I hoped to take better care of her than that. We were walking in the door to my house, and Ashe seemed to perk up slightly, but not much, she still looked pretty much just as lonely.

We got to my living room which was where I was going to set up 'her' room, as I didn't want to rush her and just put her into my room right away. So I got the bed I had pre-gotten for her, a nice soft plush bed for her sleep on during her first night. I wanted to make sure everything would be ok, so I decided to set up camp in the living room on my couch, along with baby gates at every entrance to the living room, just to be sure. I also put down some food, water and a few toys, just simply chew toys.

Ashe didn't seem interested in anything and just layed down in her bed, as if she was troubled by something. She layed there with her head rested on her chin, staring blankly ahead. Not even paying any attention when she gave her a gentle scratch behind the ears. Nothing seemed to matter to her right at that moment.

The blank staring continued on throughout the night, I couldn't sleep because I was worried about her, but she just kept staring, off out in the distance, in her own little world. I ended up falling asleep out of exhaustion, but was awoken again by the sound of whining. The whining was coming from Ashe, she was still staring, but this time she was whining. I got up to see what was wrong, maybe she was missing her previous owner? As I got up, I was surprised to see Ashe look up at me, she looked up at me with deep, warm brown eyes. "Come here, girl" I said in a gentle voice, sitting down on the ground beside her. (387 words)

    Task 2 - Bonding - Complete
Ashe seemed to slowly get up, shyly, and walked over to me, head down. I held out my hand for her to sniff, but she only took a small whiff, I guess she still felt lonely, and came right over to me, and layed down, resting her head in my criss-crossed lap.

I pet her and she leaned into my hand, when I tried to get up, she would whine, probably afraid that I would leave her. Eventually I did get up, and sat on the couch, where she followed me and sat across my lap. I stroked her beautiful blue coat, and she was as calm as I've ever seen her. She had her eyes closed and her staring seemed to stop.

I must'v fallen asleep because the next time I opened my eyes, the blinding sun was peeking through the living room window. I stroked Ashe and she lifted her head to look at me. I got up, but with the sacrifice of leaving her. It was great that she seemed to be starting to trust me, but I did have to get breakfast, but it was the weekend and I had the whole day to spend with Ashe.

I had finished my breakfast, and when I came back to Ashe, her food bowl was also empty, I think she was starting to get used to her new home. I went to the front door, and was opening it when I heard the saddening sound of Ashe's whining. I closed the door and turned around, walking back to the living room where Ashe lay on the couch, chin rested on her paws. She looked up at me, and I realized it was a good thing I had bought a leash in advance. I opened one of the baby gates that was closest to the front door and Ashe immediately got up and walked along with me to the front door. I reached for a leash that was hanging on a coat hook, and held it out for Ashe to smell. She sniffed it thoroughly and then sat and stared at me, her tail wagging slightly.

It seemed that Ashe knew exactly what it was, and was happy about it, I bend down and attached the leash to her collar and stood back up. "Ready to go?" (388 words)

    Task 3 - Gaining Confidence - Complete
It had been about a month since I first got Ashe, and she was still gaining her confidence. I took her on regular walks, and she was really starting to trust me. But when ever we passed another person or dog, she would cower behind me and usually get me tangled in the leash due to walking in circles around me trying to avoid the other person or dog. But it was starting to get a little better. Which helps because she was getting tired of constantly needing to untangle herself from the leash, but she promised herself she was going to deal with it until Ashe was more confident.

Ashe now sleeps in my room on my bed, right by my feet, but sometimes up where I am at the head of the bed. She accompanies me while eating, and while I'm on my laptop, she is starting to be a bit clingy, but that's just who she is, and I think it's still better than her being skittish and not even coming near me.

I rather liked Ashe, not because she was my first Sled Dog, but because of who she is, she's intelligent, sweet, and always looking for attention.

It was nearing the end of our second month together, and Ashe seemed to fully come out of her shell. I named her Remains of Something Beautiful because the people at the rescue center said she was kind, but now she seemed broken, and not quite what she used to be. But now the name had a new meaning, she wasn't quite what I heard she was before she was surrendered, but she definitely was becoming a beautiful sled dog once again, on the inside. (287 words)

    Task 4 - Training - Complete
It was a beautiful snowy morning in November, and also the first day of training! I was hoping training Ashe wasn't going to be too difficult to train, but of course difficult was being used loosely. It was always hard to start training a pup, but this time I was hoping Ashe would be somewhat an exception. I walked down stairs after getting dressed, going down the stairs with Ashe at my side. She was an adorable husky, and I enjoyed her company.

After me and Ashe had breakfast, I went over to Silver Veil View Kennels with Ashe to talk with Phina about training my new pup. We had discussed it, and both agreed it would be easiest if Pompeii, Doctor, Vasht, and Ashe were all harnessed up to the sled together, so that they could each 'teach' her what to do. So me and Phina drove the four of them back to Red Robin Kennels for some training.

We arrived at the Kennel and began harnessing up the dogs, hooking them up to the sled that Phina let me borrow. After the dogs were all harnessed up, I got onto the sled, "Hike!" but the dogs didn't seem to understand, "What do you usually say Phina?" "Mush" she replied, "ok, Mush!" after that word, the dogs rushed off over the snow. Ashe was hooked up beside Doctor, as he was the swing dog for the Distance team, and Ashe seemed like she would be a good Swing Dog.

After the run, the dogs were all pretty tired, but Ashe seemed to be getting the hang of being a Swing Dog, thanks to Vasht, Pompeii, but mostly Doctor. Phina drove her dogs back home, and I praised Ashe, "Good girl! You are so clever!" (295 words)

    Task 5 - First Encounter With A Skunk - ((Incomplete))/Complete

Moved to healthy lines~
Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Oh! She's just precious! Would I maybe be able to change the harness to blue, similar to this if it's not too much trouble
