When he was a newborn, his father left him with his mother. His mother was scared that she couldn't take care of Vex, so she abandoned him. His real name was Venax, and he remembered that. Then, scientists took him to inspect his forked, flaming tail. While in a cage, the door of it unlocked as some scientists passed by. Taking a chance, he escaped, getting out of the facility as quickly as he could.
He was careful as he did so, sooner or later getting out and living his life on his own.
