Owner: aray17
Name: Colton
Gender: stallion
Task: First encounter and personality
Personality: He is very introverted and quiet. He likes to be alone and independent. He's very happy and funny.
First encounter: (My POV) I traveled to Nevada today for another auction. I heard from a fellow Chrys owner that this auction always has many young colts. Since I have a herd of mostly mares, I am always looking for a colt who will blend in nicely with my herd. I brought my main stallion, Dallas with me to make sure that the two wouldn't conflict because my herd comes first before other Chrys. Their happiness is my priority. My eyes are naturally drawn to shades of blue since it is my favorite color so when I saw him in the first stall, I immediately stopped. He perked his ears when he saw Dallas. Dallas is a tall stallion but this colt was pretty tall at a young age. I was shocked at his height at an early age. I read through his paper attached to his stall door and he was only 5 months old but almost as tall as my 20 year old stallion. I entered into his stall and looked into his piercing eyes. He stepped back and stomped his front hooves in curiosity and fear. I stepped back and extended my hands so he could smell them and approach me at his own free will. We stared at each other for a good 2 minutes and then he inched slowly towards me. I saw his eyes starting to glow and felt my skin going numb. I knew that he was trying to paralyze me. I tried to move but I couldn't. He then looked away and I felt my blood rush throughout my body. That was the first time that a Chrys had almost paralyzed me. Usually, when a Chrys paralyzes a human, they are killed or sent to work in the fields. But I knew that this boy was testing me to see what I would do. So I stood there and he approached me again and looked into my eyes and sniffed me. I grabbed a couple sugar cubes out of my bag and extended them to him. He crept up and gobbled them up immediately. I placed my hand on his face and started to stroke his soft cheeks. He immediately fell into a trance and dropped his head onto my shoulder. I sat down and he plopped down next to me. He placed his big head into my lap and I started to scratch behind his ears and under his head. He fell asleep for a while. Then, I moved and he woke up abruptly. I stood up and got out of his stall to go find a handler to purchase him, and as I walked away, he vocalized at me and started to stomp and turn in circles. My stallion Dallas vocalized back at him and the young colt stopped. I had a handler take the colt into an arena with Dallas and let them off their leads. The colt seemed very shy and accepted Dallas's dominance very quickly. They chased each other around the arena and I finished up the last of the paperwork. I walked into the arena and put on their leads. I led them to my trailer and loaded them in. I started to think about what to name him and my whole ride home, I thought of what to name him. His mane and tail color reminded me of my favorite NFL team's colors, blue and white. And since the team is the Colts, I decided that Colton would be fitting for him.
First Encounter: (Colton's POV)
It was another day in my small stall and I was getting lonely and bored. I saw a lot of my friends be sold off but for me I've had no luck. I stuck my head out of my stall to see what's going on today and I saw a huge grey and white Chrys with a light blue mane walking with a human. They stopped right in front of my stall. I stood up taller and I perked my ears. The human entered my stall and approached me. I stepped back and stomped my hooves. I was kind of curious but very scared. The human stepped back and reached out its hand towards me. I stared into its eyes and it stared into mine. I started to paralyze her because I was scared, but then I saw the fear in its eyes and knew I couldn't do it. I wasn't that heartless. It might want to adopt me. I started to slowly approach it and sniff it. It gave me some sugar cubes and started to stroke my head. It felt so good that my head grew heavy and I dropped it onto its shoulders. It sat down in my stall so I lied down right next to it in hopes of getting more head scratches. I quickly fell asleep. Then, it moved and so I woke up and it stood up and left me alone in my stall again. I thought I had a chance at getting adopted. I guess not. I started to vocalize and stomp but then the human's Chrys (Dallas) vocalized back and said that it was coming back soon. I stopped and felt warm on the inside. I felt happy for once. Another human placed a lead on me and the humans walked the other Chrys and I into a corral. We we let off of the leads and the other Chrys was very tall and I knew he was an alpha. I backed down and made it clear that I wasn't a threat to his position. We ran around the corral for a litte bit. Then, the two humans entered the corral and put the ropes back on us. We were walked into a metal thing (trailer) and locked in place. The Chrys said to me: "Welcome to the herd bud. What's your name and how old are you?" I said, "I don't have a name. And I think I'm about 5 months old now." He said, "My name is Dallas and I'm the alpha of your new herd. The human that is our owner will give you a name. I think you'll like it at your new home." I said thank you and slowly fell asleep.
Why I want this babe: I don't have many stallions or black horses and I love the color blue. I also am in love with his markings and his black coat. He is so cute! Blue is my favorite color so when I saw his gorgeous mane and tail I knew that I had to try out!!
His favorite things: Colton has a giant soccer ball in his corral which he loves to death. He kicks it around the corral until he is out of breath and collapses. He has the most endurance out of all of the herd. He also has a little soft football that he cuddles with when he sleeps. He loves to run through the meadows. When I watch football, he peeks his head in the window and watches it with me. I don't know if he understands it, but he does whinny when we get a touchdown. It's quite funny to watch. He loves to eat blueberries.
His not-so favorite things: He does not like raspberries. When I feed him one, he makes this distinct face, like Grumpy Cat's expression. He also does not like swimming or bathes. I think he just doesn't like cold water. He also does not like the Patriots or Tom Brady.
