What are Carrot Cake Dragons?

Carrot Cake Dragons are a species of large stocky dragon like creatures. They are very intelligent, and often kept as pets by humans. They have their own complex language made up of growls, gestures, and purrs, and, in fact, have the ability to learn to speak human languages, especially if raised in captivity, though it is a bit hard for them to pronounce things correct. When talking in human, their speech slurs, sounding rather how you'd expect a snake to talk.

They were named Carrot Cake Dragons for several reasons - one, because their ears, tails, and nose look rather like a carrot. Two, because they are all extremely fond of cake. And three, because they also like carrots. Their diet consists of mainly the meat of small animals such as fish, rabbits, and mice. However they also eat plants too, their favorite being carrots, of course. The carrot cake dragons in captivity have proven to love pastries and sweets, and, when taming a wild CCD, it is suggested you give them sweets often in small amounts, to get them to trust you.

Why are they missing their front claws?: Poncho is known to be an extremely curious individual. He would always venture away to areas he knew better than to, but he just can't possibly not investigate these areas. Sneaking away from his Patch late one night, he set off towards the forbidden city his Patch-mates have spoken of many times before. It was quite the journey for the young Carrot Cake Dragon, but once the city was in sight he couldn't help but puff his orange chest out in pride. Immediatly he picked up his pace, a cheerful bounce in his step as he slipped behind a large structure of rock. It was odd to see boxes of daytime dotted around it. He flattened his ears as he looked around, wondering what other magical abilities these people possessed. About to head off for further investigation, he huffed as something grabbed him. Immediatly he began to squirm, making all of the angry slurred sounds you could imagine. He turned his handsome face to see that one of these humans had him in their grasp, talking to another of their kind as they stared at him in awe. He was unhappy, extremely at that. His Patch would never let him hear the end of this, especially since those that had the task of retrieving cake for the Patch were familiar with the humans. Poncho went limp in the woman's arms, ears flat against his head as she joyously skipped inside to show off her find to her family, begging her partner to allow her to keep the Carrot Cake Dragon. The man agreed, though stating that Poncho would need to visit the vet for a check up, and that he needed to be declawed as soon as possible. Apparently they had had a bad experiance with cats. Poncho didn't understand what they are saying, wishing the woman would set him down but he didn't even bother to struggle in her grasp any longer. He was put in a small box of confinement, and the two left the area. The next day was the day his front claws would be taken from him.

Winner! Pretty obvious why, but... I was also kind of looking for an idea similar to yours! Congrats <3
