First Ride
I swear this is the happiest mare I have. She was not so comfortable when I tied her up with a saddle on. But when I turned on some of her most favorite Holiday music, it were as if she didn't even care. She stood and bobbed her head waving her tail to the music sometimes getting antsy. I let her stand and enjoy her self for about 15 minutes, but then she started to get hyper and looked at me with her ears perked as soon as she noticed me walking towards her. She nodded her head cheerfully and started prancing in place for a couple seconds, and nodded her head once again.
I approached the mare to untie her, to lead her to the round pen. On the way I grabbed the radio. The mare nodded her head and pranced along side me assuming today is going to be fun. We enter the round pen and started some exercises. I started to teach her what was needed to be known while riding her. We practiced for at least 2 hours. I called her to a halt after doing some rounds. Decided to start teaching her to get used to weight on her back. After 10 minutes of letting her get the feel of weight, I decided to for real swing my leg over and sit in that saddle. She nodded her head a few times. I slipped the remote to the radio out of my pocket to turn on a song that we both love.
The mare stood once again bobbing her head and swinging her tail to the music. I decided to do a few warms ups by reaching for her rump, head, and my toes. Repeated these steps for a few minutes. I then gave her the signal to walk on. That was it... The first ride on her. After a few minutes of a smooth trot and thinking of name The name IsaBelle popped into my head. Even if it's a temporary name it's still a nice name to go by at least for now.
I called the name to see her twitch her name. Well that suits.
Half an hour of riding her, flew by fast. I called her to a halt, and dismounted. I threw the reins over her saddle and gave her the signal to follow. I lead her to the barn. I then groomed her, after removing her tack. I put her in her stall with the gates open for her to roam with the rest of my Neravontiis. I watched her stand for a moment. She then pranced to greet Lola and Apollo which were grazing side by side like little angels they are.
