Families are getting together and friends are reunited and everyone becomes full of holiday spirit. It's a time for giving and sharing and being joyful. The lights and snow are so beautiful. The streets are filled with laughter and happiness. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. We celebrate baby Jesus's birth, and of course the presents under the Christmas tree are a plus too!

One year she manged to get to a stocking hung in the barn for one of the farm hands. Man were the treats in there good! Her favorite was the stripy red and white one. The little filly earned her name that day, when the people came in the barn to find her muzzle sticky with candy and a candy cane hanging from her lips. To this day near Christmas it is not uncommon for people to slip Candy Cane her favorite treat.

When I go alone I get to take lots of beautiful pictures and enjoy the solitude and cold weather that keeps most people inside, and when I take my dogs I get to watch them leap and bound through the snow, plus it wears them out a bit faster so they will sleep by the fireplace when we get home :3

I, unlike most people, love the snow. I don't care how cold it gets, how much I have to shovel, or how bad the roads are, I just love the feeling of magic that fills you when that first snowfall arrives. Nothing else: not rain, not sunshine, nor clouds, none of the other weather types can fill that sense of fascination that you achieve when it snows

Well, it's certainly not Christmas exams...

It doesn't snow in the Caribbean. It just stays 30-27*C all year long(Ok, maybe we'll get the odd 25 in December). We don't bother with the traditional Christmas drinks like hot chocolate and mulled wine because it's just too dang hot. What we do get is Christmas wind. Yes, wind. Blowing easterly with passion, it's a blessing in disguise. It cools the air, and if you use your imagination, you can almost pretend you're facing an icy blizzard somewhere where it actually does snow.

Christmas wind signifies the start of the holiday season. Everyone gets their lights up, including on the roundabouts. Your considered silly if you start your decoration preparation too early. All Christmasy things seem to coincide with the wind - holiday music on the radio, Christmas trees being imported, candy canes in the shops, etc. I understand I seem strange saying my favourite thing about Christmas is a little gust of air, but trust me; the way others react to snow in December, we react to Christmas wind. It's really the start of the holiday season when the trees all bend to the west, and the breeze can suddenly be heard dancing across the rooftop shingles, much like the gentle sound of reindeer's feet.
