His hooves lifted and fell in a rhythmic beat, carefully avoiding the random rocks that lay in his path. The reins slackened for a moment before the tension gained lightly. "Easy," came a gentle voice and Road slowed to a walk.
Ears pinned foreword, he was uncertain as to the gaining sound coming from ahead. "It's okay," a hand patted his neck in an attempt to calm him, but he continued to stay intent and uneasy. The noise was louder now, the sound creating a rhythm of its own.
The trail slowly changed from packed dirt to sand, widening and spreading into the bordering trees until it disappeared in the undergrowth.
Blue was all that could be seen ahead, taking up the end of the trail like an oncoming storm.
Road soon found himself on a large expanse of sand, golden and warm, stretching for miles in either direction like that of a ribbon. His pace halted, head lowered to smell the new terrain. Flies buzzed around pockets of seaweed, crabs skittering through trails of water.
He stood still, shifting his weight, ears darting in every direction.
"Walk on," a light touch on his side convinced him to continue on, hesitant steps became easier and easier.
Then came the water, shallow and warm, but by now he had placed his trust in his rider, trusting them to not lead him into danger.
Road was asked into a trot and then a canter, water and sand splashing his legs as salty air filled his lungs.
This was the ocean, the beautiful ocean to which Road showed no fear.

Thank you!
I shall take good care of him.
I'm going to see if I can get him boarded at Bayside Equestrian Stable.

Thank you again!
