Overview and History

The origin of this particular species is unknown. It is guess that it was the iqena who sparked the mythos of unicorns, pegasus, kirin, and hundreds more that have become legend. Thousands of years of speculation and wonder have led to the constant search of this elusive species.

Iqena are commonly friendly towards any creature of any world. Their peaceful souls only adding to the mystery of their vast variations. Even the youngest of iqena are clueless to their biological origin. Some say that they are born from the mind, much like the goddess Athena.

Each individual of the Iqena species watches over a specific area or universe as a guardian. This is not the case for every iqena as it isn't uncommon for universes to be destroyed or for general locations to become too pathetic to watch over, occasionally they can watch over a single being. But, in general every one of these angelic cervids watches over an area and the beings within it. The most common locations in a universe are; shallow seas/oceans, areas with an abundance of foliage, creature-oriented areas(cities, towns, etc.), and desert-like plains. These can vary from universe to universe, seeing as how purely tropical universes and purely technologic universes exist.

The cause for what gives an iqena a specific affixiation for a location is a mystery. It can be linked with the being's past life or simply for it's personal taste of favorites.

Kubo loves to watch over a void. No color at all,
just a darkness filled with nothing but himself.
Nothing is seen but his glowing eyes and collar.
They bring the only color to his void. Once in a
while, the light from the death of a star will
reach his void, creating light to show the dark
spinning orbs of nothingness. Many believe he
lives in a black hole, yet that is unknown
because of how powerful black holes are. He
floats around, keeping the orbs safe, guarding
them like he could a hoard of treasure. To him,
these orbs are treasures. Even though you can
only see them if he is by one or the light from
the death of a star reaches him and lights up his
pocket of emptiness for a split second.

Name::: Iris Erat Arida // ih-ris ehr-at ar-ee-da // meaning 'glowing halo' in Latin.
I choice is because this Iqena has a halo-like collar around his neck and reminds me of an
angelic halo. He often goes by Iris, and only goes by his full name when introducing him
self in a formal way.

Gender::: Although his prefered name is slightly feminine, I can't see him a anything
but male.

The Watching Tower::: You know those large domes? They look like large metal eyes, watching, waiting,
listening to space. Iris loves those places. Atop a grassy hill you can always find him peering into the depths of
space, learning it's secrets in a language that seems to be forgotten. Space is magical to Iris- it seems to be able
to talk to him and reveal the secrets that hide in it's dark folds. Most creatures cannot understand Iris, for he
speaks of ideas and theories that seem to be impossible. Most underestimate Iris. That is why he loves the star
gazing domes because the universe can talk to him and understand him in a way no other animal can.

There are lots of planets in the universe, asn universes within universes, though Echo has taken to watching over a special place. Nobody knows where it is, nor how it came to be, though here, the impossible is an everyday norm. Echo has taken to a massive forest in this world, inhabited by animals and people alike. Going along with the animals, they aren't alone with deer and goats and wolves. harpies and satyrs roam this forest as well. Nobody has given the planet a name. Just 'The Planet' and that's how it is. Forests cover most of the world, with the exception of the growing tundras that have been created over the hundreds of years, and the rainforests that have come about as well.Echo likes watching over the 'Impossible Forest' because nothing is ever the same. The forest that is the largest on this world got his name for a reason. It's unexpected what will happen day to day, though nothing is ever harmful, but it definitely is eventful. It keeps them busy, and wandering, as well as the people, who question the mysterious forest. Nothing is ever the same, and thats why they like it. There's something new to look into every day, and nothing ever repeats itself. it keeps it all so interesting, and they love it.
