What is a Makoatl?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.

He's tried everything he can think to calm himself down, from making a zen zone, a place free of stress, listening to calming music, anything you can think, he's probably tried it, and has had very little success. Though there is one thing that helps him calm down immensely, which is Aromatherapy, which is exactly what it sounds like. Aromatherapy is classified as a form of alternative medicine, meaning it's claimed to have healing effects, though no evidence on this claim can really be procured using the scientific method. Aromatherapy uses plant materials, such as lavender, aromatic plant oils, which includes essential oils.

xxxxxAromatherapy has 3 modes of application, aerial diffusion, direct inhalation, and topical applications.

xxxxxAerial diffusion, when put simply, is burning the oils via a diffuser, which is a raised dish with a cavity beneath it. The raised dish is for your oil, and the cavity is for a small candle or tea light to heat the oil. Aerial diffusion is typically used to disinfect the air, or provide environmental fragrancing, like making your home smell like pumpkin spice during the fall.

xxxxxDirect inhalation, is one of the simplest methods. By putting a couple drops of your oil into your palms, and rubbing them together, then gently cupping your hands around your mouth, and inhaling deeply three to five times, you have the easiest method to obtain the physical, mental, and emotional effects of your oil. This method is typically used for respiratory disinfection, and decongestion.

xxxxxTopical application is arguably one of the most effective methods. It allows the oils to soak in your skin, which can help with pain. There's multiple methods of topical application, compresses and massages. Compresses are warm or cold towels, the choice is up to the user, with oils in them. They're typically wrapped around an area which is in pain, like the abdomen for cramps, or the forehead for headaches. This allows the oils to get to the area of pain and treat it. Massages have a similar goal, but can be more focused.
