LONG, LONG AGO,

there lived a vast empire of humans, known and feared by many as the greatest warriors to have ever existed. They prided themselves on their skills in combat and the art of war, and spent their days engaged in spars amongst each other. No one dared to stand up to the then-mighty empire, and as they were left undisturbed, they grew in power tremendously.

From there on, the story is in pieces. The only part that remains clear has boggled the minds of scientists for centuries: every last one of the great warriors was turned into a hybrid of two of the most skittish and cowardly animals on earth. These sheep-deer mixes gained the composure of a deer mixed with the thick, woolly fur of a sheep. Many say the transformation was to punish the empire for their violent ways of fighting and extreme pride. And thus, the species was named Vindicos as a sort of battle cry: they would avenge their great empire.

To this day, (many centuries after the occurrence of the transformation) Vindicos still base their societies on the idea of fighting. If they go for too long without sparring against another Vindico, they have been known to grow incredibly angsty, sad, and depressed. Each Vindico, at birth, is also granted an emblem that represents them in battle, as during spars, Vindicos do not think in words. Rather, they think in images, and these symbols help a Vindico refer to other Vindicos and him/herself. Each Vindico has their specific emblem painted on their shoulder, and it never changes throughout their entire life.

As you can see, the Vindico above has no horns, and no battle sprite yet...?
That's because this is a custom horn contest. B)

To win, design the pair of horns that this Vindico has! They could be small, they could be huge, they could be covered in charms and beads... it doesn't matter! Just blow me away. However, there are some restrictions:
-No "magic" horns (aka they can't glow, sparkle, whatever. they can have natural traits like being shiny, but nothing magical)
-You may not draw them on top of the ref above! You can present them through a ref, a sketch, anything but actually drawing on the above.

End date is in 1 week: June 24th
Once the contest is over, I'll be editing in the winning horns and coloring in this Vindico's battle sprite as well.

Vega has two long thin horns, much like an antelope's. They come to a fine, sharp point that is useful in battle.
If you can't tell they have a wavy shape, and tied to the end are
two charms, only about the size of a child's thumb.
One, a star to represent who she and her emblem.
The other which is simply a gift that she feels strongly connected to
it although it has no importance. Her are a dark shade of purple,
but those black marks you see are not markings but scars
from her past battles. Vega os very fond of her horns she finds them useful
and although they are plain she loves the charms and scars that
show past and inner self.

Reason: Simply because I find it elegant and fancy with a flare(as is she). Clarum meaning "bright" and Vega meaning "star" would suit her perfectly.Her smug attitude and
smart battle tactics make her intelligent, smart, and well, bright.
Despite her sly personality she seems to stand out with her odd horns and intricate designs she's like a star in the night sky.

I choose the name Astrum for this Vindico.
Astrum is Latin for Star
but can also mean Constellation
and Heaven. It also means
Glory and
Immortality and I think these relate
to the values of the Vindico.

Horns:
They curl behind her ears then come back
around just under her eyes. They are thick
and strong and she uses them to to head-butt
her opponents. Her horns reflect the colour
of her body. Their main colour is a deep
shade of purple with light pink highlights.
Her Horns also have stripes of irregular sized circles
and ovals and they have three stars on each horn
