Name
Ketrina, but no one knows that... All anyone calls her is Ket.

Gender
Female. Always has been, and always will be.

Personality
"Curiosity killed the cat"

Ket hasn't died yet, but she's walking on thin ice at this point... She sticks her nose into every nook and cranny she can find.

"But satisfaction brought it back"

Pride, satisfaction, gloating, all things that Ket has an overabundance of. Not that she means to! It just happens. Ket likes being right, and she likes making sure that other's know exactly when she is.

"Rebellious"

Oh yes. Ket is quite the rebellious one, as well, mixing in with her curiosity. Told she's not allowed somewhere? Suddenly, that's the one place she can't stay away from.

"Protective"

Don't mess with this girl, she's protective of everything she cares about. Whether it's herself or her few friends, she'll get mad, and you do not want to see this lovely little fireball angry.

"Uncooperative"

... ... A word of advice: Don't ask questions. She won't answer them, and you'll likely get a blank, angry stare...

About the Skull
"Momma? Are we ghosts?"

A long time ago, Ket was a little fawn, and she lived with her mother.
She had no idea who her father was, and naturally, as happy as the little
child was, she didn't ever question why she had but one parent. Now little
Ket and her mother, Crystique, lived a normal life... Or so it appeared.
For you see, Crystique wore a mask, the skull of an alligator. Again,
Ket never questioned why she was never allowed to see her mother's
face... Or, only once. One time, Ket tried to ask. It was a simple
question, less of why her mother wore it, and more of why she
herself did not. The only response was something of being different,
and of life being forgotten. Puzzled, and trying to figure out what
that meant, Ket could only draw one conclusion. "Momma? Are we
ghosts?" Crystique laughed, and ruffled her daughters unruly purple
hair, and assured her that they were not ghosts... But neither of
them were ever really convinced. The mask still intrigued Ket
though, to the point where she often tried to paint it at night
while her mother slept. The few times that the fawn did, however,
she was scolded severely, and sent away while Crystique scrubbed
the paint off until the mask was gleaming white once again. And
so Ket's life went on, almost all the way into her teenage years.
15. That's how old she was when it happened... The unthinkable.
Coming home from the nearby town, Ket was happy, and about
to call for her mother, until she smelled the smoke. She only paused
for a moment, until she came over the top of the hill, only to find
her home, her entire life, ablaze. Running, screaming, crying,
calling, hoping. The smoke was beginning to choke the young
doe, but before she was smoked away from the wreckage, she
found what she was looking for. Crystique. Her mother. Her only
family. Sobbing now, Ket kneeled next to the dying doe, begging
for her to stay, trying to convince that everything was going to be
alright, despite the fact that she knew it wouldn't. With a faint
smile, Crystique, at long last, removed her skull mask, and placed
it over her daughter's face. "Go." She said in a whispered voice,
almost lost to the raging flame's. Tears still streaming down her
face, Ket rose, and nodded determinedly. With only a glance back,
Ket ran, knowing that she was the only one alive now. She had no
idea what the mask had meant to her mother, but to her, it
meant her mother. Of course, Ket isn't nearly as extreme
about wearing it, taking the mask off occasionally, but still, she
keeps it on for the majority of her time.

Yes, we understand that we are muffins,

Being eaten always takes away precious

This deerssert would be a male.
His name comes from the Egyptian god of war (and the Nile), which has a crocodile's head. I felt this name would be well suited for him because of the Alligator skull he wears and because crocodiles are closely related to alligators.

Caring

Sobek loves Catrina and through this, it reveals his inner caring nature. Outside of their relationship, he is rather reclusive and prefers the solace of the Park. His favorite time is the dead of night, when the only other creatures awake are the ever-raucous insects.

Calm and Collected

He is rather calm and collected and it takes quite a bit to anger him. He tends to think through his words before he says them and puts emphasis into every thought. Oftentimes, he will profusely apologize for his actions if they offend anyone because he likes to keep everyone as content with him as he his with everyone. He is also very polite.

Dependent

He relies on the power of his alligator skull to give him enough strength to go without Catrina for extended periods of time. He developed his dependence upon her after the period of time he separated himself from her. It's more of a psychological dependence, and although he can go without her for good lengths of time, he still has difficulty leaving her.

Arcane

Sobek practices Voodoo. Ever since settling down in New Orleans, he became a follower of the religion and has practiced ever since. He takes his practice very seriously and disapproves of those that look down on him for practicing such a religion. In his opinion, his decision is solely his own and should be no one else should have any sway over that aspect of his life.

Vehement

Sobek is vehement in what he does. Once he discovers a new hobby that he likes, it's hard for him to leave it. His most recent hobby is painting, although his paintings are more abstract or non-objective. In addition to his hobbies, Sobek is very passionate about his stance on social ideas. He doesn't care much for politics, unless it affects him.

Sneaky in Actions, Reclusive

Sobek can often be seen skulking around the darkest corners, flitting between one task and the next. He likes to live alone, with the exception of Catrina and his Herdmaster. He tends to be very introverted in most aspects and doesn't like to make public appearances... but who could blame him? The public's eye is very disapproving to deer like Sobek.

Has Hyperthymesia

Hyperthymesia is the condition in which one is able to remember most, if not all, of their life events.
Sobek happens to have this condition, and because of this, it has caused him to develop his personality accordingly. He is reliable, but also spiteful and resentful because of his condition. He follows through in almost anything he promises, unless he decides that the promise he made is harmful. He is resentful to himself for leaving Catrina and often holds grudges for long periods of time.

I strummed my ukulele, the phrasings strange and unknown, just invented as my fingers spun them out like gold that you could hear. I loved to play my ukulele and I loved Catrina even more... but, something changed in my heart. I had to leave right then and there or at least as soon as possible. I couldn't come back to this little town and I didn't understand any of this, but I knew that it was a change that had to happen, sooner or later.

I consoled Catrina as we sat in our forest... of course, we didn't own it or anything, but we were the only regular visitors, so I half-considered it to be ours. I told her how everything was going to be perfectly fine and that she wouldn't be left to forget that I ever existed, that I had never been here. I suggested that I would leave some of my things for her here in these woods and she would be able to find them after I had left.

She ran away, sobbing and obviously in denial of my decision. I felt like I had betrayed her...

But I still continued with my plan. I packed up everything I owned and carted it into the forest, leaving a bundle of things behind for Catrina. They were my most prized possessions, and yet I felt that they would be more prized by Catrina. I left the forest for the last time and began the long trek out.

My horns were my prized possession and my symbol, but the horns broke off after a freak mishap and had once again become earthen dust. How could I have returned to her like this? All that remained were the bare places where horns once stood erect. Ever since that day, I've trekked for miles on end, stopping infrequently for food or water. I had to hide my shame for leaving Catrina, but also my shame for losing my antlers. An alligator became my travelling friend. He aided me in my journey, as if he was my spirit guide. Eventually, I reached my destination...

New Orleans.

I settled down at the City Park and we made a life out of living there. We perfomed for the people and they came from miles out to see our act. Eventually, we found a water-worn clearing and settled in.

The years passed by and my travelling friend passed on as well. He gave me permission to use his bones from beyond the grave, so I made necklaces and amulets of them, hanging them around my house wherever was possible. His other bones still held enough power for other things, so I kept them hermetically sealed in a mahogany chest. His skull clasped snugly onto my own and I felt powerful.

My pelt regained its healthy moonlight glow. I wrote to Catrina and eventually she came to visit. She spent many hours recovering from the scars I had given her by leaving, but eventually she came to live with me. She was in shock of my horns no longer existing, but she accepted the new me. We shared many things, and now, we even shared our outward appearance. Our skulls were so alike, yet vastly different... And after a while, things were back to normal. I practice Voodoo in my spare time and Catrina is interested in joining me one day...

That is why I wear this mask.

Half of it is for good magic.... and well, the other half? Take a guess.

Name: Arham
Gender: Female
Personality: Arham is basically a shadow... She does not like to be noticed by anyone and makes sure she is never the centre of attention. She is somewhat of a loner and does not talk. I face no one really knows her personality because she is mute! However, despite her disability she is very intelligent and a great problem solver. She is never really seen with a heard and prefers to come out and walk under the light of the moon where she feels less judged.
About the Skull:
Arham was not always mute. When she was just a wobbly fawn her Mather had been trying to cross a great river. Arham was fearful and stayed on shore while her mother jumped in to show her it was safe.... The only problem was the water was not safe. Everything happened so fast that her mother never really got the chance to react. A giant toothy smile emerged from the murky dreadful water and gobbled her mother up. Arham was so traumatized that she lost her voice, never to regain it. Shortly after Arhams herd left her behind. Without a herd or a voice Arham felt like she had nothing. So she tried to get rid of her identity all together by covering her face with the same skull as the creature who had taken her mother away. Since then few know her true identity and fewer bother trying to seek her companionship.

: About The Skull :
The skull is a farewell gift from the other gods when they left. However, the skull was given to Shinigami by Ekibiogami, the god of pestilence. The note attached read, "To my dearest friend Shinigami.I give you this skull,to represent the death of the bond between gods. While I am sorry I must leave,I still believe you are not as evil as one might think. Now then, wear your new mask for the rest of your days, and remember the bonds we all once shared." Upon putting on the skull,Shinigami was cursed. He would forever remember his friends and the chaos they once reigned together. An eternal symbol that everything must die at some point.

Alexa, better known as "Alex"

Postby MistyMorning » Mon Jun 02, 2014 6:57 am

Image
"Hey, who said Deerserts with a black&purple coat & alligator skull have to be evil and moody?"
Image

I'm MistyMorning, call me Misty, please!
Image

Alexa, Nickname "Alex"
Alexa means...
Image

Female
Image

Alexa once had a very nice brother. He had an alligator skull that he was very proud of. Then, he went away on a top-secret mission. Almost two months later, Alex found the alligator skull floating down a river. She wears the skull in memory of her beloved brother, and it is her most treasured possession.
Image

Alexa looks mean, scary, and evil, due to the alligator skull and black/purple color scheme. She is not, and in fact she gets upset when people avoid her or act scared of her, when she's really just trying to be friendly. Due to this, she has become sightly withdrawn from the crowd, but is a sweet bowl of ice cream if she chooses to be that way. She doesn't have much friends but wants to make some. She misses her brother terribly, and holds on to the hope that he is still alive and out there somewhere. Alex can be very defensive when bad things are said about her or her loved ones.

I might add an extra later on
