Lykotari #21

Postby AlaskanAlpaca » Mon May 05, 2014 1:22 pm

What are Lykotaris?

Lykotaris are a recently discovered canine species, their name deriving from the Greek words for Lion(Liontari) and Wolf(Lykos), so called for the tuft of long fur on the tip of their thin tails and the thick manes on their necks. Lykos are the size of a small pony, sporting long fur, legs and ears. They appear to be a very advanced species, with the ability to communicate with many other species, animal and human alike. Each one has a bandanna wrapped around their forehead, holding their hair out of their eyes. Loyal and friendly, Lykotaris will capture your heart!

This one makes me think of snow and ice! :) Hope he/she isn't too design happy...

↱ Cheerful | Optimistic | Excitable | Talkative | Innocent ↲
....Ayaan doesn't act his age, lacking quite a bit of maturity. He's often hyper,
gets into many forms of trouble, easy to excite, and loud. It's suspected that he knows how
well he can guilt trip others, as he often breaks out the puppy eyes and uses his image of
innocence to his advantage. Although he acts younger, he isn't messed up in the head.
In fact, he has his moments, there's just a lot of space in between them. He's hardly
ever truly sad, though. It seems his energy is undying, especially to those who have
to put up with him.... Ayaan likes to chatter and sometimes ramble. The more excited
the faster and more he talks. The question is: is anybody listening? He doesn't care,
as talking to himself is pure habit at this point..
..

----Snow day----
....Ayaan saw his first snow when he was very young. This isn’t an
exaggeration, considering he was just a pup and had hardly had his eyes open for two months.
At the time, his small family inhabited an abandoned house in fairly good condition. The
carpets were still in one piece and the insulation kept the most of the cold out. The nest where
he spent most of his time was positioned in a corner of the upstairs master bedroom. The
whole back wall was almost entirely made of window panes, so the bright white glow woke him
from his sleep. The time was about three in the morning, so Ayaan had to pad quietly out of the
nest so he didn’t wake his parents. Wild thoughts were racing through his head, and there was
an element of nervousness to his movements. When he reached the huge window, all he could
do was gape in awe. Small bits of snow were floating down from the dark sky and thick layers
of white coated every open surface. He couldn’t comprehend what he was seeing. Even
though it was night, the stuff glowed enough to light the room up fairly well. He pressed his
front paws and nose against the glass, making little puffs of fog on the panes. His pale blue
eyes darted everywhere, taking all he could as if it would vanish in an instant. Suddenly he
was in the air. His mother had picked him up by the scruff and was carrying him back to the
nest. As he was set down, he craned his neck, trying to see the snow, still amazed that
something other than rain could come from the sky..
..

----Extra----
....Because of his 'Multiple Personality Disorder' Ayaan is just
one of the many people inhabiting a body. There are nineteen others that he shares
it with and they all share control. Transactions between him and the others are often
blurry and soft. Harsh jolts are very rare. Memories of what one did are fuzzy to the
others, but most of the time they have a general idea of what happened. Together,
they coexist like a small community..
..

Image
Maybe that's not what comes to mind.
What about the intricate spirals of frost?
Or the hovering clinginess of the fog?
Or the slowly melting icicles?
The brooding clouds?
Winter has many personalities.

I loved your idea, hannahbug! :)
