CWHR: Valentine Foal #3

Postby all patched up » Sun Feb 09, 2014 4:40 pm

Foal #3 is up! This foal has a light purple, dark purple and orange blanket and looks to have cream genes like #1.
So, for foal #3 you have to tell me his story. What has happened during is first five days and why is he being adopted out so young?

Owner: Potato.
Show Name: Sing The Country Blues
Barn Name: Lil Bleu (it'll change to just "Bleu" when he is an adult)
Gender: Colt
Age: 5 Days
Breed: Florida Cracker
Colouration: Unknown
Markings: Unknown
History: Well first of all, Bleu's dam was a maiden when they bred her and was fairly young. The young mare, who never had been a mother before, rejected the poor young colt when he was born. To ensure his safety, the staff of the stables took the newborn colt and started to raise him through being bottle fed. After only 3 days of this constant caring the staff came to an agreement that none of them had the patience and time to hand raise the youngster- he was in need of more care than they could offer between their training of other horses and their own social lives. So the staff did what they could only do, and that was to spread the news of how they needed a new owner for the newborn- free of charge of course. Interested people lined up for a chance to possibly own the colt, but of course the staff were going to be picky, they wanted him to be owned by people who were going to raise him right. Now it is up to the stable staff to choose the perfect home for the colt who had an unfortunate beginning.
Personality: Bleu is a very shy young colt around other horses for sure. Because he wasn't raised by his real dam, he has not had the opportunity to socialize much with other horses. He loves people though, especially the few who raised him since he was practically born. The people who have been in the presence of Bleu notice his curiosity of things though. He is always needed to get in to things and trouble, and even often makes messes in the paddock. He has a humour to him and it seems he fully knows well that when he makes a mess how the stable people will react. It seems like he does it just because he finds it funny. All in all he is a wonderful youngster to whomever has met him.

Barn Name: Darach
Gender: Colt
Age: 5 Days
Breed: QHX
Colouration: Unknown

History: Darach was a big surprise. He wasn't planned by any means. There was an old farmer who had an old mare. He'd had her for a very long time- and it was all he could do to keep her fed. she was much too feeble for farm work- just a worn down quarter horse. He mostly kept her for sentimental purposes. They were their own best friends. The mare grew fat- at least...her belly did. And the farmer realized she was pregnant. He knew the old nag couldn't make the journey to market, and he was too fond of her to get rid of her.
He did his best to keep her up. But, come that fateful day, a little colt- so scrawny and fragile- was born. And with each new life passing into the world, another light sadly must go out. The old farmer has done what he could for the orphaned foal in the past five days- but he hasn't the money, nor the time and energy to put forth into raising a foal- one so small and weak he is surprised he has lasted this long. The farmer has offered to adopt him out to a better home, and give the little colt a better chance than his poverty ever could.

History: On a horse farm a boy and his father were in the barn tending to some of the mares. Nala was acting strange the previous night, making the boy curious of how she was doing. He walked over and there sat a young colt next to Nala. It looked to be a couple of days old, making him curious to how she hid the small creature. Right then the boy knew the colt was in trouble since his father was already selling all the horses because of the economy. "We just can't take care of the horses anymore son, it's too much money!" He'd always tell the boy. His father would never let the boy keep the foal and the boy knew where the horses went wasn't a good place at all. There was a man the boy knew that the father sold the horses to, he'd abuse them let them go days without food. The man would always put on a show for his father just to get more horses for him, said it was for 'training purposes'. The boy knew better, "Alright Papa, all the mares are good lets go eat supper!" He tried to persuade his father into going inside instead of looking over Nala's stall. His father nodded with a small smile leading the way they both walked into the house.
Later that night the boy came out to Nala's stall with a basket and blanket. "It's okay boy, I'm going to take you somewhere safe." He whispered to the small colt putting him into the basket and covering him up to make sure he'd be warm. The boy patted Nala on the head before heading out of the barn and running down the dirt road. The foal wasn't as heavy as he'd thought it'd be, but he still had some weight to him. The boy looked closely trying to find the sign that he'd notice on walks with his horse. There it was 'Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch' he looked over surprised to see what it looked like in the dark. He ran up to the door leaving the foal with a note before ringing the doorbell and running back home. The note read: "I know how well you treat your horses, please find this guy a loving home."
Extra: Can't wait to see what he looks like!

Owner:
Show Name: Breaking Free
Barn Name: Liberty
Gender: Colt
Age: 5 Days
Breed: Gypsy Vanner (with creme genes!)
Colouration: Unknown
Markings: Unknown
History: (What has happened during is first five days and why is he being adopted out so young?)
Liberty was born at a farm that abused horses. Since the day Liberty was born, the farmers abused him. When Liberty was born, the farmer was on a "business" trip to sell a horse to a distant farm. Consequently, he left the farm into the hands of his daughter, Rose Brown. However, Rose was different from her cruel father; she cared about the lovely equine creatures on meters away from her house. The young girl and her maid assisted Liberty's mother when she was giving birth to Liberty. For good luck that her father will kindly liberate Liberty and his mother, Rose and her maid agreed to name the little colt Liberty, even though Rose knew that her father will never agree to free two horses (especially a horse with unique cream genes).
One night, Rose couldn't take her father's abusive, and led the young foal and his mother to a hill and a river, far away from the farm. But unfortunately, Rose's father caught up in his truck and fought with his daughter for the horses. Mr. Brown managed to retrieve his mare, but Rose grabbed a basket from her father's truck, used to collect crops from neighboring farms, and rested the foal into the basket. Laying Rose's childhood purple blanket over the foal, Rose put the basket in the river and allowed the current to take other. Mr. Brown was desperate and leaped to grab the basket from his daughter. He missed the basket right when his daughter threw it into the river and pushed his daughter into the river instead. Bumping her head badly on a rock, Rose was killed by her daughter. In all the commotion, Liberty's mother ran away, forever a wild horse. She was never found again.
Liberty's liberation was not exactly as expected. A young, innocent, and kind girl risked her life to save Liberty...
The following day, Liberty was found and put up for adoption, in hope that the young little coat would find a forever home...after breaking free.
Extra:
Personality-
Liberty is a young colt who has been abused greatly. In the future, Liberty will grow up to be a strong, brave young stallion that can surpass any difficulties. At the moment, Liberty may have to work on...social skills and forgetting the past. Because Liberty is currently raised by a mare that is practically a stranger to him, Liberty always feels alone. He thinks that since he doesnt have any family members near him, he doesnt belong any where. Though, by time, mental scars will heal, and soon, Liberty will be a brave, dashing young stallion.
