What is a Zorrarian Runner?

A Zorrarian Runner is a species native to the world of Zorra that resembles a canine. Runners can have nearly any color and pattern, though plain Runners are rarer. They are very agile and have great hearing due to their large ears. All Zorarrian Runners have horns and are born with their horns. There are three types of Zorrarian Runners: Forest Runners, Cloud Runners, and Plains Runners. The Cloud Runners sport feathered wings, the Plains Runners have long fur on their legs, and the Forest Runners have neither wings nor extra fur. Sometimes, a Zorrarian Runner is born with both wings and extra fur. This is rare and they are known as World Runners, since they are believed to represent the sky, the plains, and the forest. Sometimes, World Runners have strange abilities or powers, these powers can be discovered at birth or at some point in their life.

This is a runner is roughly based off snow and wintry stuff like that. He is not a quick one and his contest will last for a few weeks. My custom is finally ready to be posted so I was thinking of posted him as the 30th runner. Thus I had to create a design, but instead of making it a quick one I thought I would make this runner last until a special date. What is that special date you may wonder. Well, I will be doing special runners for Christmas/Winter. They will be released the day after this runner's contest ends and will last until early January. I will not give any other hints other than there will be two and at least one will have extra hair. Look forward to them!

Gender: Male

Personality: Storm is very friendly and has a kind, loving nature. He is affectionate, but he is not stupid. He will be kind to you, but will only trust when you show kindness back to him. Despite his loving nature though, and true to his name, he always has something brewing inside of him (see what I did there? :3). When he was a child, his parents both abandoned him. He has always held a grudge and if you ask him too much about his past, his calm, loving nature turns into protective and aggressive. Despite this, though it's why he is always kind to people; he never wants anyone to felt left out in the cold like his parents did to him.

What is their favorite thing to do in the winter? Storm loves to watch winter storms blow by.
Explanation:His appreciation of winter is due to something that happened during his childhood. Having no home as a child, he was outside in the cold for many a storm. In the winter, at around the age of 8, Storm was outside during a particularly horrid blizzard. Crouched under a tree with the wind almost whipping him off his feet and the snow and cold making him lose feeling in his paws, Storm wondered if he would make it out alive. Ironically enough, the wind stopped suddenly and the snow lightened up. Not thinking at the time, Storm wandered out from under the tree to see the sky. He heard a rumbling but payed no attention to it. Wandering out a bit further, Storm felt a bit of a tingling throughout his entire body and his vision was blurred. Looking down at his paws, Storm suddenly realized that he was no longer just a cloudy grey like the color he was born as but a charred black. Walking (or more like wobbling) over to a puddle of ice, Storm saw that his body was a lighter grey-black swirl by his head and a charred black at his feet. Storm thought about why this could have happened, and remembered the rumbling he had heard only moments before he felt tingly. A sudden thought popped into his mind : I was just struck by blizzard lightning. The black coloring has faded since, and his head has returned to cloudy grey along with the bottom half of his body returning to a blackish grey (more or less), he never returned fully back to being cloudy grey. He has had a new appreciation for snow and winter ever since.

Wow that was really fun, I enjoyed writing the personality and favorite activity Hope you enjoy the pictures too, tried to match the whole blizzard thing ^3^ Thanks for making this beaut!

Runner's Name & Nickname(s);; Nere is his full name. Seeing as it is rather short, he doesn't really have any nicknames. He can also be called Mr. Swirly though.

About the name;; I was originally going to name the dear Neve, "Snow" in Italian, but I didn't really like that, so I changed it to Neverette. Then, I felt that it wasn't fitting enough, so I changed it again, and I got Nere.

Gender;; I see the dear as Male.

Age;; I see this boy as 7. (Assuming that Runners go by Animal years. I wasn't sure.)

Personality;; Nere is super sweet once you get to know him, but he's really shy and quiet. He doesn't have many friends, so he is very attached to the ones he does have. He doesn't get angry or agitated easily, and when he does get upset, he is still very calm and collected.

Favorite Winter Hobby;; He tends to sit at home by himself and just relax, think, read, and such things whenever he has free time that isn't spent with his friends. However, around winter time he tends to take lots of walks; especially when it's snowing. He doesn't seem to know what it means for it to be snowing "too hard", however, and will sometimes get lost in the woods during a blizzard when on one of his walks. He will just sit at home sometimes, like he would any other day, but that doesn't happen too often. He will spend time with his friends during the holidays, passing around gifts and sharing stories and such. This tends to take most of his time, but he doesn't mind it too much.

Looking Back;;

When he was Young...

During this time, Nere was living with his family, which consisted of just his Mother and Father, as he had no siblings. He and his parents lived in a secluded area on a mountain side, with barely any other runners, if any at all. After a few years of this seclusion his parents realized how it would most likely, and does, cause him to act, so they moved closer to the base of the mountain where there was more runners. Despite them moving when he was at such an earlier age, the distance had taken it's tole on his personality. He was still shy and very distant. Not many people knew just why it had such an effect; not even his parents fully understood. He was always off to the side, think about something-or-other, occasionally talking to himself. He was never close to anyone during this time. There was the occasional person who would try to talk to him, but his shy and silent personality tended to drive them away. It's not as if he wanted to drive them away or anything. In fact, he rather like the company. He would have easily made friends with plenty of runners, but he could never get himself to just go up to someone and strike up a conversation.

Later Pup-hood...

This cycle of loneliness continued 'till his later years, where he finally met one of his now close friends, who then introduced him to his other friends. It was during this time that he began to enjoy taking long walks and began to take less time to sit alone and put more of it towards spending time with his new found friends. He began to spend less and less time at home, or with family at all for that matter. Not that he spent much time with them anyway. He still lived with his parents, of course, but he didn't really spend much time at home. Now that he had friends, most of his time was taken by spending time with them, and the little time he did spend at home was spent reading, or just looking out a window thinking.

On to the Now...

Now a days, as is stated above, he still spends a lot of his time with his friends. He lives on his own now, though he will visit his parents from time to time, just to make sure that they're alright. Since they're rather old now and everything. He still takes long walks by himself and, as stated above, can tend to get lost in the woods. His friends do try to get him to allow them to walk with him, to make sure he doesn't get lost or something bad doesn't happen to him, but he insists on going by himself. Lucky for him, he hasn't had any terrible accidents or anything of the sort. Now that winter and the holidays have come back around, he'll actually spend the time he says he'll use to walk to go buy presents for his friends and family or do something of that manner.
