Though not much of a Warrior, Rainer is still wise and extremely intelligent. He is loyal and trusting, and always does what is asked of him. Though trusting of those that he knows well, he is extremely perceptive and can tell who is friendly and who might be a potential threat. And when he comes across one of these individuals he makes sure to throw a fuss about it, and will not stop until he is sure that him and his loved ones are safe. Rainer doesn't handle loss very well and prone to suffering from a bit of separation anxiety. But because of this he is also very loving and can even be a bit playful at times. Overall, he is a sweet boy who is a general pleasure to be around.

His separation anxiety likely originates from the barn fire he was caught in as a foal. He was carried to safety by a stablehand, a grey little colt covered from head to hoof in black soot. Though he was fine his mother never made it out. She was already a particularly frightful mare, so her being terrified of the flames made it impossible to get her to safety without hurting herself or someone else. After she perished he was bottle fed and raised by a few stablehands, which is probably why he seems to love people so much.
Also, the fire was caused on purpose by a strange man who had been lurking around the stables for a few weeks. Rainer could tell something was definitely off about him before he started the fire. This may be the reason he is aggressive around people whose first impression is a negative one.
