►WHAT IS A BOBA TEA PUP? ::

I'm sure you folks know what a puppy is, so I'll just explain the boba tea part, hehe. Boba tea, aka "bubble tea", is a yummy tea drink developed in tea shops of Taiwan that can be made with fruit or milk, and sometimes both! Although there is a wide variety of flavours available, every boba tea drink has one thing in common: chewy tapioca pearls!

Now, what do you get when you mix boba tea with a puppy? Why, a Boba Tea Pup, of course!

BTPs are miniature puppies, about as tall as the average glass cup, with stomachs and tails made of their favorite kind of boba tea. Like the delectable drink, they are sweet as can be! Their eye and ear colors always match the color of their tea, and they always carry a drinking straw on hand. All BTPs have tapioca pearls in their bellies and tails and the pearls are almost always a dark brown/black color; other than that, their designs are arbitrary. For some reason, their tails tend to stay afloat and the tapioca pearls never fall out. As expected, their diet consists of tea and tapioca pearls.

i speak mandarin, and i actually came back from my trip to Taiwan roughly two weeks ago. whenever we wanted to get boba downstairs, we'd always just ask for "boba nai cha," which is pretty much boba milk tea in mandarin, hence his name.

having been born in taipei, the young pup knows of the dangers that lurk in the crowded moped infested [no joke, this is true] streets of this city in northern taiwan. boba tea pup drinkers aka. those who were too cheap to buy boba. there was a rumor that people would try to drink from these little creatures, leading to his owner trying to keep him in their small condo, not really wanting the little guy to be eaten / drank from. nai has always enjoyed running around, but always finds a way to botch things up. his infamous list of dastardly deeds include: tearing the wallpaper horizontally and on by accidentally going too close to the wall with his straw, leaving a pile of boba in a place no man wants to discover it, and drooling milk tea all over the furniture, attracting those pesky roaches that frequent the place. it's common knowledge that there are a lot of stray dogs in taiwan, and so, his owner would often use that to threaten and correct the mischevious pup. however, only when the craze died down completely in the spring of 2013, when a young woman discovered the impurities that lay within boba, nobody dared try to take a sip out of the little guy and nai was subsequently walked often. sadly enough, being out in the hot and humid climate proved to be instantly too much for nai. he lasted a few minutes before he dove back inside the cool apartment he and his owner shared, hellbent on living in AC-regulated areas.
