He has one light blue eye (shown) and the other eye is blind. Write a story (short or long) or a poem about how he became half blind or how he deals with it. Art is a bonus. :)

WTE Name: Samwise (Sam for short)
WTE Age: 6 years
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15.3 hh
Personality: he may be blind but he is completely trustworthy, some people, horses and whiptails think if your blind you will go crazy and do dangerous stuff because you can't see. But this is not true with Sam, he is more trustworthy then any friend I know. He will always be there for you even if you don't want him. He may need help time from time when he is about to run into a wall or fall into a steam because he can't see it, but life never seems to get his spirits down and he is always cheerful.
Story:
Sam smiled as he grazed on the sweet green grass, his whole whiptail herd was grazing around him. His father, Everett who was lead stallion, was looking out for any kind of danger. the moment seemed so perfect, which is why it must have had to end.. everyone's head went up as they heard Everett's warning that danger was near. everyone gathered the foals as a large mountain lion came from the trees. as he watched his father battle the Mountain lion, Sam had an idea, it was crazy but it might just help. He galloped towards the large cat, ignoring the warning of his mother to bolt in the other direction. his father got pushed to the side as he and the Mountain lion jumped at each other, the large cat being on a rock across a stream while Sam being at the grassy field. they met in mid-air, claws and hooves ready. after about 10 minutes of fighting in the stream, one of Sam's back hooves slipped on one of the rocks at the bottom of the stream and he fell. The large cat seemed to smirk as it drew its claws down the right side of his face, and Sam blacked out from the pain.
When he woke, he found his mother laying beside him, She was grooming the fur on his back. He shakily sat up and realized something was different, thought could not place it. he looked around and saw all the other whiptails were muttering to each other, he heard about half of what his heard said, one stallion said "he was stupid to try and take on the Mountain lion by himself" a Mare nudged her foal away from Sam and said to her "Don't go near that fool, he might get you killed." it was all the same, except one colt named Kovu who Sam very much disliked, he was talking the the Filly names Katrina that Sam had a crush on and he said "That fool is likely blind" at that moment Sam realized what was different, he could not see out of his right eye.
10 years later
Same nuzzled his mate Katrina as he watched over his herd, yep he was now lead stallion even though he was blind in one eye. He smiled as he saw his twin fillies May and June play with Kovu's twin colts Jasper and Dale who's mother was that foal who's mother warned not to go near Sam in case he got her killed.

Poem:
how I became blind, a poem (short story) by hobbit geek

I was a as wild and free as any young colt,
Never listening to my mother when she says to bolt,
I thought I was wise, for it was in my name,
But when it happened everyone said I was lame.

It started when I was older, a teenager you could say,
I thought I could take him, but I knew I had to pay,
I only wanted to protect my family from the big cat,
Yet afterwords they all saw me as some large rat.

I knew my chances were slim,
But I still beat him,
Yet the price was my sight,
In which one eye will never see the light.

I wish I had listened, but I know at heart,
I will always protect my family so we may never part,
I am now older and blind in one eye,
Yet I never give up hope or tell a lie.

    WTE Name:
Cream Moondrop, but he prefers to go by Milky.

    WTE Age:
    7

    Gender:
    Stallion

    Height:
    12.2 hands (...?)

    Personality:
Milky is a very näive, cute stallion. All the mares in his herd are constantly running after him. Although he hasn't really encountered a mare yet that he likes(although there was one...), he just kind of accepts it, and typically packs more with them. He has a serious issue with encountering anything that happens to be shiny metal/metallic, then will completely freak out and start bucking and rearing.

    Story:
The pretty stallion was actually born in captivity, a second generation from the wild. The ranch owner was trying to get a completely domesticated, tame stallion. And when Milky had reached the age of 3, he felt the wind accompanying a whir of a lasso pass over his back.

About an hour ago, I recall playing in the pasture with one of my friends, a pretty little mare. She was a beautiful blue roan splash, and a rump of appaloosa. But while I was standing with my nose sniffing the wind, a noose-like rope fell over my muzzle and settled down on my neck. It was most certainly not fun, and I began bucking and kicking at the human holding the rope, trying to drag me towards him. While my feet were mid-air, another human managed to throw a rope that slipped under my front hooves. Once the 2nd human pulled the rope taught, I ended up sprawled on the ground, on my side. After going through the same sequence every time I got up and commenced acting like a hell-born demon, I finally just gave up and lay there. After that, they dragged me off to a barn in the distance. I looked back at the rendevous spot, but my pretty blue roan had bolted long ago.

I stayed the night in the uncomfy, cramped stall. It wasn't a box stall, it was just big enough for me to have a hay basket and a water bucket in front of me. On top of that, I was hitched so I couldn't even lie down on my belly without the rope choking me. Heck, I couldn't even reach my provisions. If I tried to kick, I would hit the iron door that kept me in the stall and end up falling. As said before, I would choke. So I just stood there, staring at a brown wood wall mixed with the black of night. But it only lasted till a church bell tolled 8 AM. Then a door creaked open and flew shut. Then a light flicked on, and my stall door was opened. "Okay, let's get this over with."
I let him hobble one of my feet and back me out. It was the person who originally roped my neck. Once I was out, I tried to nip him. He should have at least loosened me. I mean, really! I was thirsty! But he ended up slapping me on the rump and scolding me. I then held my head low and followed him to a small pen outside.

Once we were to the round corral, he loosed me and went back into the barn. I threw my head around and pranced about, happy to not be cramped in one position. When the person came back, he was carrying a bridle, and was scrubbing the large bit with acid. It was rust remover, I think. Then he set the bottle on a post that held the pen door and hosed off the bit. Then he came back to me. I started galloping around the corral, round and round. I was not going to let me put that cold thing inside my mouth. Around and around he chased me, I kept on turning the other way. Until he finally leapt behind me as I was turning and grabbed one of my horns. It extremely hurt when he yanked on it to pull me in, so I ended up following him to the fence line. He grabbed the bridle, much to my dismay. But when he went to put the bit in, his grip loosened on my horn. Now's my chance!

I reared, and then made a semi-circle and charged straight towards him. I hit something with my horns, but it wasn't a fence post, it wasn't the man. It was the rust remover. It got caught on my horn, and it leaked down into my eye. It burned! And it burned, I was squealing and jumping about like I was rabid and dangerous. I even attempted to leap the corral. And to my surprise, I made it, and the bottle even flew off my horn. I ran off into the woods unaware that my one eye was damaged beyond repair.

    Poem:
A little bird in a tree sings a relished symphony,
    The river trickles beneath.
Known to all of the forest,
A beautiful stallion rests in peace.

    Art:
I can honestly say this is the best thing I've ever made.

    Genes:
Red Base, Tobino: AA, Appaloosa: Aa

Sitio is brave, easygoing, strong and calm. He does not bend under pressure and is a leader. While Sitio is a somewhat antsy stallion, it is not from nerves so much as alertness. He always watches out for his herd and is fiercely protective of them and loyal to them. Honest and trustworthy, Sitio will always stand by his friends. (May edit this a little more later)

Image

I was wandering through the forest, minding my own business. I looked around at the branches, then swiftly dipped my head to the sweet, lush grass below. Casually munching and flicking my tail, I wondered how long this place had existed for. My friend-my only friend- had told me about it. She said she visited here quite often, but it looked untouched, the grass long and uncropped, the leaves thick on the large trees. I twitched an ear and sidled up to the rough bark of a large oak, enjoying the feel of it rubbing on my back fur. Delighted with myself at the moment, I didn't listen for the faint cry of a hawk far up in the sky; I took no notice of it. I continued to graze, simply joyous with the wonder of this amazing little patch of land. The sun's rays fell gently on my back, not too hot on my thick coat but just warm enough to feel pleasurable. The emerald-green ground beneath me was cool and gentle to my hooves. I sighed. This was the life. It was so incredible, here in this clearing in the woods, I began to consider living here; making this my permanent home. Oh, my friend had done so much good when she told me to come here! So lost was I in my thoughts, I did not notice the falcon's screams coming closer until it was too late. Looking up from my contented grazing, still several stalks of grass in my mouth, I froze mid-bite when I saw the bird coming towards me. Fear dawned in my eyes as I looked up at it, but it was too late. There was no time to run, and honestly, where could I have gone? So all I did was watch as my evident doom soared towards me. The little raptor was the bird known as the Peregrine Falcon- deadly sharp beak and deadly fast wings. I've heard that the creature can reach 200 miles an hour in a dive. I knew this one had hit at least 100 when it made impact on me. I let out a shrill neigh and collapsed on the ground.
I may have been unconscious, but I had a lot of thoughts. Mostly, I was replaying the terrible scene over and over in my head. My eyes! It had gone for my eyes! I knew it was no random shot. A falcon would not mysteriously dive at me and aim for the side of my face. Oh, no. This bird had been a trained one. Most likely trained by man-trained by a man, to hunt me down and maybe kill me. I was grateful it hadn't. Perhaps it had simply overshot. But I could not shake off the nagging feeling that something had gone horribly wrong.
At last, I woke. I saw a hazy bluish shape looming over me- I instantly recognized it as my friend, Drizzle. I let out a short little whicker of surprise. "Drizzle! You're here!" But I could see the worried look on her face. There was something wrong! I could sense it almost instantly. The right side of my face, the side the falcon had aimed at, felt frozen. I whipped my tail around beseechingly, then tenderly brought the furry tip to the side of my face. I brushed it up and down gently, but I could barely feel it. The I whacked it against my face. That had hurt! Relieved that I wasn't paralyzed, I was removing my tail when it hit my eye. I realized instantly something was messed up there- and then it hit me. I knew it! I knew what was wrong. I couldn't see out of that eye. I couldn't see! I couldn't see! I flailed my hooves and panicked. Drizzle caught my eye and nodded slowly; for some reason, it helped to calm me. She looked at me somberly for a moment, then said quietly, "I didn't want you to find out, Sitio, but...you're blind in that eye."

Image

Sitio was a stallion brave and strong.
He thought he could do no wrong.
But one day he made a mistake
It would cost him an eye- not a fake.

Sitio was a stallion kind and true.
He thought he always knew what to do.
But one day, when a falcon swooped by
Oh, yes- he lost an eye.

(It's short, but oh well XD)

WTE Name: Stratus
WTE Age: 3
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15.2hh
Personality: Stratus is a gentle, calm and quiet type of guy. He's very shy around new equines but with a little time, he comes out of his shell without any problem. His shyness can make his mumbling or not-so-social behaviour a bit annoying but his warm nature makes it hard not to love him. He likes to please so anything from being a soundboard to climbing mount Everest he will do if he's asked. Many mistake his quietness also for cowardice which he is anything but. He's slow to anger but when he does, he's got ferocity beyond compare.
Story:
When I was young, I was ambitious to the point of reckless.
My mother was constantly scolding me for getting myself into trouble of various sorts but no amount of punishment kept me from doing it all the more.

When I was a weanling, my father relocated his harem to a section of flatlands by the sea. I loved living there with the salt in the air and the water to bound and splash in. Here life was comfortable for us, making it much easier for myself and the other colts to get into trouble.

One summer day, myself and my friends were wading in the ocean waters, splashing each other and chasing each other around. Once we were sufficiently wet, we ran out onto the beach and up the flatlands where the beach started to grow into cliffs. Not realizing any sorts of dangers that could be around, we raced and chased all while literally inches from the cliff's edge.

"Stratus!" I heard her scream.
My mother looked up at me, eyes filled with terror when she noticed I was so close to the edge.

I, myself, however, did not realize how close I was and thought I was perfectly safe.
"Mama, it's fine I-" I stammered as my one back leg slipped out from underneath me. Without any sense of balance, I knew I was going over and had to watch my mother's terror as I felt myself falling until I hit the water and my head hit the rocky bottom...

When I finally came to, I was lying on my side, drenched and cold. I could tell my mother was giving me a lecture but with my ears full of water, I couldn't hear what; plus something else had my more immediate attention:
From my side that was face up, I couldn't see a thing.

I bolted upright to my feet in fear of my lost vision but when I opened my other eye, I realized not all was lost. With all the water now out of my ears, I heard a stomp from my other side and turned my head to see my father. He looked at me in a way of examination that made me more afraid than what sort of punishment my mother had in store. It wasn't until he straightened up that I knew something was wrong.

"He's half blind now. He'll never see out of that eye again."

Poem:
Every moment of his life
it's seemed like an eternal strife
when you blink
and cannot think
for all your sight
its never right...
