Equitragus Cabiger or Itrags(EE-tr-ags) are a recombinant species that are a clever cross between a Sable and a Horse. The horse is most prominant in the shape of head, back legs, and tail. The Sable dominates the rest of the body. Every Itrag has two horns on its head, and the facial markings of the sable have disappeared as they were on mostly unnaturally colored Itrags which have now all but gone extinct(They will show up sometimes). Rarely, the Itrags will be seen with a sable tail. The males have beards on their chins for mating season in the wild where the larger the beard, the better their chances of attracting a female. The species is also gaited.

Story: Whene Shadow was young she admired all things, all things but darkness. Whene she was older she decided she wanted to be a part of each one of us, she wanted to follow in our footprints, and be smart like us. But she also wanted to be a part in all other things. She liked to be a part of things, she never let herself get left out. So, you can guess what she did, she studied all the humans ways and promised to be shadow by day to the sun, and to the moon she said,"If you keep light to me during the darkness i will leave the night to you!". the sun agreed and so all day she follows you, silent and quick, still admiering you. but whene night falls, she quickly slippes away to the moon.

Story:
I never should have felt that way. Why could emotions run wild like that? I thought I was stronger than that, no one could get me at first sight; since the young don't know what love really is anyway. Many a stallion had smitten on me at first sight, or so they said. I always brushed them off and laughed. How could they know what love really is! There were so many; some held on for a day or so and gave up, others would last longer waiting for me to give in. I never did because that wasn't what I wanted. A newly kindled flame was burning in my soul and wings had just formed on my back; I didn't want to give up freedom and lodge myself beside just any ole stallion. Just like everyone else had, they all claimed it was right but I saw through their façades and noticed the dying fire and the clipped wings. I didn't want to be like them and forget the rush wing on my face brought me, or miss out on the sights just beyond the next foothill. There was nowhere else to go but away, for the blaze inside me told me to run. But had it not been for that fateful day and perhaps my once shining combustion of sparks would still blaze on and rush me happily to new places.
I had stopped in a meadow just for a brief sojourn. It was a peaceful place that I visit often in the rear of my capacity. Only a few days worth of stay and I found a herd of bachelors stopped to accommodate me for the day. I thought nothing of it as their leader spoke to me about them and I agreed to let them trespass on my privacy. An older stallion himself, thanked me and lead them in. At the time I wouldn't have known but now I know he was half hoping one of the younger studs would take a fancy to me and we would perch in this cozy place. He had been so close, for when the boys strode in a new burning sensation filled me; with passion to match that of the blaze of enterprise. For my orbs had come to rest on the last one to enter my paradise, and the love that I had scorned and scrutinized leapt up and consumed my very being. For the rest of their stay I could look at nothing else but he who I periodically caught looking back at me. I hardly knew his name and just a brief exchange of words between us and they were gone. It was something about the way he had spoken to me and called me 'Ma'am' that had stole my heart and very soul. Broken I watched them gallop away farther and farther until his beautiful tail was out of sight. The passion would have died if not turning back just before exiting he looked back, and my hurting hopes regrew faster than their very birth. It was something in his look that he promised to return to me.
I shouldn't have felt for him like that. It was all misconception and wants in my mind altering what was really there. Maybe he looked back for a parting glance and move on as quickly as he came. And yet the vehemence never died, although not as strong it consumed my fire for adventure and turned it into a dark wandering, searching for the one I lost. But all I know is that I shouldn't feel this way for a young stallion that I met years ago.
