▪ Username: flika10
▪ Whelkon Name: Hawke
▪ Gender: Male
▪ Personality: Hawke was never the biggest or the strongest, but he was one of the smartest. But he was never assertive, never popular, always in the background. The face that was always there but no one recognized. At a young age, he saw the love of his life, but she took no more notice of him than the rest of the herd. He watched her whenever he could, just sit in the shadows and sigh and grieve for himself and his meaningless love. As they grew older, and no other would claim her, he began to grow braver, and one day began to leave gifts for her to wake up to. A flower of her favorite color. A leaf filled with the purest water. A selection of tender grasses and clover. Eventually he once waited by his gifts for her to wake up. When she did, she realized it was he who had been leaving these things, and that he must love her. She smiled and began to spend time with him. But while he was blinded by his love, he didn`t realize that she was never into the conversations they had, she didn`t connect with him emotionally, she didn`t care about him at all other than a plaything - an attest to her greatness. So it came as a surprise to no one but Hawke when she left him for another. He was a big Whelkon, beautifully colored with all shades of blue and some lighter, sea greens. Hawke was enraged, hurt, and forever changed. At first he ran off his feelings, considering everything he had done for her and all that she had done for him. He had given her everything he could, everything that was within his power to give. If she had asked for the highest leaf in the tallest tree he would have gotten it or died trying. But she gave that no thought. As he ran, his muscles developed, and he became strong in both body and mind. He was not the same, however, as he gradually returned to the herd to contribute his abilities. He had become cold, battle-hardened, almost cruel. No doubt if he had been a carnivore, he would have been a ferocious, deadly hunter. But alas, he was confined to this form. A Whelkon. An Ancient Whelkon. A peaceful guardian of the forest. He had no where to release his anger, no where to put his rage until it was needed. No longer was he the timid whelk in the background. When humans attacked, he ran at them, fought them as much as he could, distracted them so the herd could get away. He had no regard for his own life anymore. His heart had already been ripped out.
▪ Song: I Gave You All - Mumford and Sons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NVe0sblg_Q"Rip the earth in two with your mind
Seal the urge which ensues with brass wires
I never meant you any harm
But your tears feel warm as they fall on my forearm
But close my eyes for a while
Force from the world a patient smile
How can you say that your truth is better than ours?
Shoulder to shoulder, now brother, we carry no arms
The blind man sleeps in the doorway, his home
If only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy I could have won
But I gave you all
I gave you all, I gave you all
Close my eyes for a while
Force from the world a patient smile
But I gave you all
I gave you all, I gave you all
And you rip it from my hands
And you swear it's all gone
And you rip out all I have
Just to say that you've won
And you rip it from my hands
And you swear it's all gone
And you rip out all I have
Just to say that you've won, you've won
Well, now you've won
But I gave you all
I gave you all, I gave you all"
Sorry the personality is so long. I kind of got carried away by the backstory.

Edit: I`ve been reading some of the Whelkon info again and they`re just so freaking peaceful! All my characters are depressed, violent, have some sort of rage-issue, or a combination of such.
