Name:
    Alulia
Name comes from the section of feathers at the tip of the bone on a bird's wing, the alula.

Gender:
    Female

Bird related stuff:
Best friends come in many shapes and sizes, and they don't always come in expected forms. Alulia was once pertrified of birds; the splash of pale tan on the back of her head acted like a giant magnet for curious crows whenever she left the safety of her parents' sides. To them, she was a slow-moving squirrel, potentially weakened and thus ripe for the pecking. Never mind the size issue; compared to the small sparrows she had been used to at that point, crows were monstrously huge. Even the sight of a dark feather, shed and abandoned in the natural cycle of all coats and plumage, was enough to send her into petrified fits.

She took to a nocturnal life, avoiding her 'enemies' the only way she could think of without the use of hats or mud - neither of which were all that comfortable to her. It was not an ideal arrangement; she wasn't made to be nocturnal, and she certainly wasn't fond of the dark, but what else was she to do?

Then, one night, she met a small grey owlet, too young to fly, on the ground among the tangle of undergrowth in the sparse suburban 'woods' she had settled in. Harmless, cold, afraid and very much in danger of being eaten by a cat, the little one was about as scary as a rubber chicken.

Against her better judgement, she took the chick in and kept him safe. The grey feathers he shed were a lot like the black ones she feared so much, though he seemed to make things... better. She could stand to be surrounded by grey down in their shared sleeping area, and even started to decorate using some of the larger and better-formed ones, much like the human parents she sometimes observed had decorated furniture with marks of their own childrens' accomplishments. As he grew, and quickly surpassed the size of the fiends that had plagued her so, he also became more affectionate toward his adopted mother - preening her fur as he did his feathers, gathering food for the both of them - including stealing from candy shops to satisfy Alulia's sweet tooth!

Perhaps a fear of birds is a silly thing, for many; for Alulia, it shook her so much that she tried going against her nature as a diurnal creature in order to avoid them. But with an unlikely friendship with one huge, young grey owl, she may find that soon, she can face down one of the great black feathery monsters.

Perhaps she can find peace with her best buddy by her side.

Phoenix got the bag and spread out the bird seeds. He made sure they were in plain sight, then went into a bush to wait. He waited. Then waited some more. He waited and waited for at least an hour, and nothing happened. After he was about to give up, and walk away, a beautiful red bird fluttered down and started picking at the ground. After a few seconds, another bird flew down, a blue one this time. And soon, another blue bird came down. Then another. After a while, there were at least ten birds, red and blue, right in front of his eyes. After the birds got full and flew away and Phoenix was about to get out of hiding, another bird flew down. But this bird wasn't like the other ones. This bird was garnet in color with a luxurious flowing tail. Phoenix barely breathed, in fear of scaring it away. Instead of picking Arne ground like the other birds, this one seemed aware of his presence. It hoped toward him, fearless of him. It came right up to him, lied down at Phoenix's feet, then fell asleep.
After this incidence, Phoenix and the bird, later named Iro, have been inseparable.

A string a Piece:
"A string a piece"
A string a piece has been brought down from generation to generation,
always going to each son/daughter. Each one, in it's lifetime, will be given
a special Blue-jay's feather.
The feather has 20 strings on it; each marking a new generation. It doesn't matter what color it is, but the tradition itself is very simple and easy, well, not really. Let's say, one generation is
Red the second Orange, and the third Purple. Each generation has it's own color, depending on the Aura color the person has. Say, if you have a Blue Aura, which means you had that colour for most of your life, you would hang a blue string, when you're older, off the Blue-jay's feather, and then give it to your children. He carries the feather all around him, behind his ear, tied to his belt, or his backpack, just anyway near him. He would never try to loose it on purpose, or try to break it. He doesn't yet know his aura colour, but he wants to. Until he does, he carries different type of string with him wherever he goes.

Bird related stuff: Distance loves birds,in fact he used to own a small parrot himself before she flew away, now, Distance likes to collect Wind chimes because they sound like singing birds when the wind blows, in hopes that his bird will hear the noises and come back to him, of course it attracts other birds to his home and he leaves food and water outside for them to have, but its never his parrot he lost.
all of distance's wind chimes have a special origin or mean something to him.

Bird related stuff: A memory that happened not to long ago. I was walking home from school when I saw a crow that wasn't flying, I approached it and it didn't take off. It looked like it had an injured wing so I took of my jumper and picked up the bird warped in it. I took him home and looked after him. My mum is a vet so she fixed up his wing while I fed him and gave him water. A few days later, or more, he was as good as new and started to fly again so we let him free. After that like a day later I saw a crow not sure if it were him but it looked a bit like him and we don't normally get crows.

Thank-you
