:Pictures of my real life pet koi fish Yang X3:I'm so sorry it's blurry, Yang hates photographs and dose not like staying still when I try to take pictures. Also the room with the tank had horrible lighting. Also to whoever wins, please do not use the pictures that I took of my koi fish.
:Short Story:
Note- Yin and Yang both belong to me. R.I.P Yin, you deserved a longer life...
It has been a few weeks since I had a koi fish pond dug out in my back yard. There wasn't anything special about the circular pond. Pieces of large flat stones put together with cement lined the inside of the pond with a simple bird bath coming up from the center. The only fish I had in my pond is my koi whom I named Yang. Well, he wasn't always alone. He had a friend named Yin but Yin died a few days after being moved into the new pond, leaving Yang all alone in the world. It's sad how life can be so fragile.
Lately instead of the normal depressed slow movement Yang had after Yin's death, I noticed Yang swimming more energetically. This of course is wonderful news but I felt suspicious but not enough to really dig into it. But recently it had been raining been nonstop. On days like this I stayed in bed reading a book or watch a movie with the sound of rain pattering against the glass of my window. In the middle of the chapter in my book I heard a strange scratching sound coming from my back yard. I stood up and slowly walked over to my window which showed my entire back yard. The light sound of rain could not block out the sounds of the scratching yet I couldn't see anything out there.
"Maybe it's a raccoon...or a cat?" I mumbled, trying to reason with myself.
All of a sudden a dull thud shook me out of my thoughts. I gasped noticing the bird bath that was in the center of the pond had fallen over and from the corner of my eye I noticed some sort of animal the size of a medium dog run off into the bushes by the fence surrounding my back yard.
I quickly ran out, ignoring the feeling of mud under my bare feet as well as the rain against my skin. Right away I noticed muddy paw prints on the stone slabs surrounding the pond leading to the bushes. Slowly I edge near the pond, unsure of what to expect. Looking down into the water I was surprised to see Yang, completely unharmed.
"Oh thank god! Maybe I should just remove the bird bath, I wouldn't want you to get crushed if it never falls over again."
I laughed a little realizing how silly I must have looked right now, soaking wet, muddy, and now talking to my fish.
But all of a sudden a sound of a twig snapping drew my attention towards the bushes by the fence. I looks over at horror to see a pair of glowing blue eyes peering at me.
Before I could do anything the creature leaped at me, my mouth went dry. I was unable to scream as I fell onto my back. Closing my eyes tightly I await my horrid faith but to my surprise a warm wet feeling on my cheek made me open my eyes.
The so called creature was in fact a jelly bean dragon all along! To my joy and relief I started laughing, causing the dragon to stop licking my cheek. The poor thing must have snuck into my yard to play with Yang I guessed.
With a giggle I asked the dragon "Well since you love visiting so much why not stay with me?"
The dragon made a happy sound and jumped off me, allowing me to get up.
"I'm going to call you Máfan zhìzào zhě, Máfan for short" I decided before leading the dragon into my home to get us both cleaned up.
All was right in the world.
