Participating Chicoon:
aldrusPrompt: aldrus' jaw literally dropped to the floor. he had been spending his time contemplating how he was going to function after this, losing one of his dearest friends, and now Pit is standing in front of him. He sat staring for a very long time, scared to go to talk to Pit. What if he doesn't speak his language anymore? Aldrus was so scared of ruining the memories he had of Pit by not being able to talk to him again.
Aldrus took a deep breath.
He realized that if he doesn't at least try to say hi, he stops any chance of future memories.
Aldrus stumbled to his feet. He felt frozen in place, wanting to move but his nerves seemed to halt him. He could feel fear eating away at his stomach and making his legs feel weak.
This is all I wanted, wasn't it? To keep my friend? And this way the other Chicoons don't get hurt, they get reunited with their loved ones? Why is this so difficult?Aldrus decided to look around at the other chicoons first. He observed so many having conversations he couldn't understand. He hoped that by looking away from Pit he may be able to settle a bit, but everyone speaking words he couldn't comprehend made it all so much worse.
Aldrus felt eyes on him. He wasn't sure if it was other Chicoons looking at him being so stressed or if it was his imagination. He took one more deep breath and looked around and connected eyes with Pit. The eyes he felt were Pit's. Aldrus gave a half smile and waved. Pit waved back. Aldrus couldn't help but stare at his friend's new form.
He felt a sense of adrenaline suddenly. Maybe the shock wore off, or Aldrus finally got brave. Whatever caused it doesn't matter. What
does matter is the speed Aldrus ran at Pit with. Aldrus' dance agility and strength lended him well as he sprinted full speed at his friend. He barely saw Pit register what was happening when he engulfed him in a hug. Pit honked upon impact. The adrenaline high gave him the strength to literally pick Pit up and swing it in a circle. After setting Pit back down, Aldrus stepped back and gave a sheepish grin.
"... hi" Aldrus said in Simlish. He could feel others around look at him and Pit, curious as to if Pit would speak back.
"Hi Aldrus" Pit said back in Simlish as well. Aldrus began crying immediately and fell to the ground, spooking Pit. Aldrus was overwhelmed with the rollercoaster of emotions he was feeling, and he wasn't quite sure where to channel it. Pit seemed to get it, and came down to his level.
"I'm sorry i was just so scared that even though you're here in this form and not gone forever I wouldn't still be able to talk to you because I thought you were going to be like everyone else" Aldrus blubbered, sobbing uncontrollably, "its been so long since i've made a new friend to talk to and my other friend who can speak to me is so far away and her and i only send letters and i haven't seen anyone in so long and and and"
Aldrus stopped talking and just continued crying
Pit patted his head, unsure of how to console the chicoon. Aldrus did his best to pull himself together and gave Pit another big hug.
"I will let you catch up with everyone else, if you ever want dance lessons please just show up on my doorstep. Also, please write to me with all the cool things you learn in your new form. Maybe one day we can go on an adventure together and I can take you to my other friend, Idnumie," Aldrus smiled up at Pit and stepped back. Aldrus was so happy he couldn't even explain it. He nodded to Pit and turned and started to head back home, very content.
He stopped in his tracks and turned back.
"Wait a moment, Pit" Aldrus scrambled around to the other chicoons, motioning for a pen and paper. After collecting the items, he quickly scribbled on the paper and handed it to Pit.
"My address. So we can write letters." Aldrus smiled again. He changed his mind about going home, and decided to stay and watch the rest of the chicoons celebrate and talk. He felt a new peace in his heart.
