Penelope returned the next day, ready to help out again. This time, she came prepared, bringing along her dad's old toolbox filled with various repair tools. Having watched a few YouTube videos and various WikiHow articles, she strided to the broken ride with a newfound confidence, determined to fix it. How much she could fix, however... that was the million dollar question. Penelope grabbed her wrench and got to work on reolacing some rusty bolts.

Lemon is by no means a mechanic nor is he the brightest. The first idea that comes to mind is “what if I wack it with a wrench?” So that’s exactly what he does, grabbing the closest wrench Lemon saunters over and just wacks the ride with said wrench. And... nothing happened. Lemon’s face was that of pure confusion as she sat there staring at it. Lemon looked at the wrench and then at the bolts, thinking carefully “what if I try...” He gasp amazed that he’s figured out how to use the wrench, and just like that Lemon would quickly tighten any bolts that he could see, he looked very proud of himself.

Sugar made her way back to the pendulum ride to find some of the lights had turned on, but still no sound or movement. "Hmmm so it has power now but it's still not working. What do you think Mulberry? Any Ideas?" Her finch companion chirped sadly, shaking her head. "Well, I guess we just keep looking around, maybe something is different now that the power is up?" Sugar and Mulberry started to circle the ride to see if there was anything else they could spot, at first there wasn't anything of note, just a bit of moss and dirt at the base, one lightbulb that would flicker, nothing surprising.

But then the came back to one side where another panel had been opened in hopes of getting to the mechanical parts. On the inside of that panel had been a black square, but now it was lit with a dim green color! "Oh! A utility panel! Let's see if it still works" She touched the panel and text appeared: [ERROR DETECTED - CODE 476] "Hmm, well that's not good, but sounds about right... some sort of error happened. And it gave us a code... '476' -WAIT!" Sugar cut off her own train of thought as she remembered, "There were some papers with the tools I found earlier! Maybe that can tell us what the code means!" She excitedly ran back over to the tools the blue Chicoon had left for her before.

Despite her earlier hesitation, Sugar had started getting into this whole "ride fixing" task, it was like one big puzzle to solve! She reached for the papers to examine them and find where the list of Error codes was, but to her dismay they were all mixed up. "I don't think half of these are even for this ride!" She exclaimed, shaking her fist at whatever chicoon had come before her and been so rough with the manuals. "Well, I guess I'd better sort these out before we try anything else, I don't want to use the wrong instructions. Still up to help me Mulberry? You can go get cotton candy instead if you want!" Her avian friend shook her head, determined to stay with the chicoon and figure this out. "Alrighty then, lets lay all the papers out and we can see which goes with which. Maybe once we have the full manual we can really start to figure out what's wrong with this thing! (408)

cry, as is reasonable in the face of such adversity, before taking deep breaths to calm himself down. Miles was nothing if not determined to solve the problem, but that didn’t mean his feelings didn’t get the best of him from time to time. Perhaps when he was younger he would’ve bottled it all up until he exploded; but now he cried with dignity whenever he felt like it then carried on. Looking at the tool box he brought today, that admittedly hadn’t seen the light of day since he bought it in the first place in case of emergencies, he rummages around and pulls out a small bottle of machinery oil. Maybe that would help? He wondered. He really shouldn’t be doing this but they’re the ones who insisted and he would like to help if he can. Really, if anything goes wrong it’s their fault for presuming he was a repair guy and not looking for credentials. To him that indicated how desperate they were for these fixes to be made, and if he can’t fix it himself he’ll let them know what problems he finds, and remember which rides to avoid if he cares about his safety. Which he does, thank you very much. Grumbling a bit at the circumstances of his adventures with engineering and mechanics, he applies the oil as a lubricant to the gears, clearing away any little debris he saw built up. That certainly wouldn’t fix all the rides but maybe it would help with this one and some of the others. Not everything would be outright falling apart, right? Staring at the gears of a machine he never thought he’d look at up close and personal let alone be trying to fix, he was not reassured in the slightest. One day at a time, he reassured himself.

be scared.. asRonnie walks up to the broken ride, he looks confused, he huffing softly and he decides to grab a screw driver and a screw, he sticks out his tounge and lines it up, he drives it into the place as an atrempt to at least get the ride into one piece, he groans dramatically, picking up more pieces of metal in an attempt to fix this.. thing.. hes definitely not the most skilled ever, but he is a hard worker, at least it wont fall apart, hopefully.. I mean- at least theres not metal over the ground, right now..

currently day three

you stumble across ripsaw and the blue chicoon talking in a secluded area, both attempting to whisper but doing horribly at it. "they aren't fixing this ride. it's been two days and it's still down." ripsaw would huff "awh, come on, they're trying their best!" they'd nudge him "and you weren't able to get it fixed either" they'd talk with a playful tone. he'd flatten his wings and look away while mumbling "come on, you grump, lets go find something to do rather than you sitting inside doing all that paperwork" he'd look back at the other chicoon, sighing with a slight smile "fine. but i want to get through all of that soon, eon." "i know, i know" both would leave, neither spotting you.

At this point, it would seem that Ichigo was running out of ideas on what she could do to possibly fix the pendulum ride up. If (admittedly rather uselessly) wrapping wads upon wads of chewy, goopy gum wasn't the right solution, what was? She knew throwing in the towel wasn't an option now, not after two days of hard work with no reward for her or any of the chicoons who were excited to go on this ride. There had to be some other way, but what? She decided now was the time to snoop around for clues, hoping to overhear any possible secrets to the machine she could find that would aid her in her efforts. Now, if only someone would spill the beans—

— And spilled they were, when she found Ripsaw talking with the blue chicoon. Wow, what an awful job at whispering they were doing. Even Ichigo, who just loved to make noise, thought she could do a better job than that. Who put them on whispering duty, anyways? Whoever was in charge should TOTALLY hire new whisperers, because these ones just weren't it. So, she hid out of sight, hoping the two wouldn't catch any signs of her as she listened in on their conversation as intently as she could, trying not to be distracted by all the other goodies the fair had to offer. (After all, a refreshing cup of boba tea would be wonderful right about now...) She just had to stay as calm and still as possible. Not the easiest task for her, but hey, she didn't think she was doing half bad!
Jee, she thought about Ripsaw. Isn't that guy just a stick in the mud. So grumpy, and for what reason? Besides, the blue guy's right — Eon, was their name?— I AM trying my best! He'll see — he'll be taking back every word once I get this ride up and going! Me, and only me! I don't need either of their help, just my own genius plans and I! And nothing can stop me, either!

So back she went to the shed, once again checking each tool it had to offer before the carefully made her selection. Today, she'd try a tiny screwdriver, a can of oil and a... Jackhammer, because nothing bad could ever possibly happen by using it! It definitely would not destroy any precious parts of the ride that were vital for it to work, now, would it? Hah, definitely not! That'd be weird if it did. Besides, even if it did, what would be one more little part to fix? You can't have construction without a little destruction, after all! That'd be ridiculous. The only thing she had a problem with now was... Getting a close look at the pendulum ride. Maybe if she could get a bird's-eye view of the thing, she'd have a better picture of what needed to be fixed up, and then she could resume her work. The only issue is it wasn't like she was able to fly or anything. So, what could she possible do now? ...And then it finally hit her.

Today, Ichigo was going to recruit some help from a fellow chicoon to see if teamwork could get the job done.

"Hey, you," Ichi beckoned to a winged chicoon with green markings as they passed by, simply enjoying a... ...Wait, was that a hot dog bun with a dill pickle spear instead of a hog dog, covered in mustard swirls? Ichigo had to refrain from commenting on the interesting snack, and as soon as they had swallowed the last of their sour lunch, told them her plan for the ride. Cashew, as the chicoon turned out to be named, agreed, and followed her back over to the run-down ride. They knew next to nothing about construction and building and fixing things, but wanted to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Oh, how they hoped Ichi wouldn't find out they had no experience in this field... (Not that Ichigo had any experience either.)

Together, they paced around the ride and checked every nook and cranny for something that looked like it would be out of place. Maybe they missed something, for neither could find anything; so they went around once again, double-checking as they passed by. Still, they were unable to find the cause of this unwanted effect, so they sat down and thought for a while, discussing what they thought might have been the root of all issues. Ichigo was wondering if maybe the ride in general was faulty; Cashew suggested the ride was asleep and didn't wan't to be bothered, but Ichi said she already thought of that the previous day and could confirm that it was in fact not the problem. Oh well. It was then Ichigo dropped her plan:
"Hey, you can fly. Do you think you can give me a lift to see if we can see anything we missed from below?"
Fortunately, Cashew did not mind hauling a fellow chicoon into the air, and while Ichigo grabbed the jackhammer she had picked out early, Cashew picked Ichi up. It wasn't exactly a light load, but Cashew thought they had it under control, and so flew above the ride.

Ichi then attempted to turn the jackhammer on, but not only did both of them forget their safety gear... It wouldn't turn on. It must've been out of power. Sighing in unison, they both returned to the ground and stared at the ride, both knowing maybe this wasn't going to have the happy ending they had both wanted.
"Say, have you done anything with this screwdriver yet?" asked Cashew, placing a finger to their chin thoughtfully.
"No, not yet," Ichigo said.
"How about this oil canister?"
"Nope, haven't used that yet either."
"...Well, I think I've thought of one more thig we could try...?"

Once again, Ichigo felt herself being lifted into the air by Cashew, who held her as she unscrewed a screw from the ride, rescrewed it back in, and then poured... Maybe a bit too much oil on it. Maybe the screws were too stiff and it needed them to be loosened up a little, and maybe the oil could help it get moving again. Then the two repeated it for the next screw, and then the next screw after that, tediously doing undoing and redoing each one, little by little and one by one, until they had finally gotten to all the bolts and screws. Once they finished, Cashew wiped a little sweat off their forehead, leaning against the ride... Only to slip a little when their hand reached a coating of oil that had been dripping down from a screw! Fortunately they were alright, and Ichigo was CERTAIN this had to work. If it didn't, at least Cashew seemed willing enough to help her again if needed.
